I wasn't quite sure how to answer the question. I went for reality even though I enjoy a dose of fantasy to augment and interpret reality in a more romantic and interesting way.
For example, I am very allergic to people who say, "Love is just chemical reactions in the brain," since to me that's like saying a Rembrandt masterpiece is just "oil pigment on canvas." It's like saying that going to a 7-Course Michelin-Star French restaurant is just a very inefficient way to get macro and micronutrients.
To reduce such things to the simplest technical descriptions removes all potential to interpret things in the richest and most meaningful of ways and quickly devolves into a very nihilistic view of the world. So I think we have to be romantics, in a sense, just to interpret the world in a reach and meaningful way.
Yet I don't consider that living in a world of fantasy. I just consider it to be living in a world of value and meaning.
rich and meaningful way, sorry
If I use music as a metaphor, for example, technically "music" is just "noise" if we detach ourselves entirely from our tendency to value things for more than what they most simply are, to romanticize them, to find them sparks for our imagination -- if we are to think like robots, so to speak. And to think like such a robot seems like such a miserable and nihilistic existence that I don't think that's a "true" interpretation of reality, if "true" means one that lets us live the richest lives. So I try to find the metaphorical music in everything I can so that it's not just noise.
Or Viktor Frankl explains this better than I could on why idealists are the true realists:

Definitely reality.
I enjoy a book or movie like anyone else, and a bit of an escape can be enjoyable, for a couple of hours, but I spend the vast majority of my life in the real world, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I don't drink alcohol or use drugs for the same reason - I want to be awake and sober and actually be able to think straight and remember my life.
Reality…
When I was young, and I was sad about something, I comforted myself by thinking that, feeling sad means I am alive, and it’s better than feeling nothing. So, instead of worrying too much, I tried to feel grateful for being alive.
While fantasy world can be much more stress free and beautiful, we cannot run from reality.
There’s a beauty in reality, even when and if it hurts. No fantasy world can repeat that beauty.
It only comes from the combination of all the raw feelings we feel, all the obstacles we overcome in the real and even the times we fail.
It feels like comparing aquarium to the sea.
My reality isn't bad at all.
So, why should I choose otherwise.
In fact, some others consider my reality to be their desired fantasy.

Every time I see a truck, I feel tempted to jump in front of it, it's just that there isn't anyone for me to save from certain death in order for that jump to not be considered a suicide. So yeah, in short, I prefer the fantasy. I know at least a few alternate realities where I would make a better job having a successful life than in the reality at hand, so it's not much of a choice. Suicide being a serious sin that would cast me into hell (no point "escaping" to a location just like the one I've just escaped from, but everlasting), the unwillingness to hurt my family and a single, futile hope for love in the future is all that keeps me from testing if the isekai stories are true. I'm doing all I can to somehow accomodate to the reality without abandoning my morals and ideals, but it proves impossible. I manage to survive and to resist the urges to die, but that's about as much as I can ever accomplish under the circumstances at hand.
I cannot really answer one or the other , but you kinda have to live reality , with a little fantasy , that often becomes Reality anyhow , they blurr.
But , I dont live in mindless fantasy , thats for sure , no way.
i think the purpose of dreaming is to open the mind to reality and fantasy. i prefer to REM hardcore, with total body sweat. the endorphins when you wake up don't last long, but it's such an incredible high
the one I live...
however, I kind of want to get back to some gaming, because of GTA 6... lol
It used to be fantasy but I can't escape anymore. So neither they both suck. If I didn't hate drug addicts so much I probably would be come one.
fantasy.
reality is the eventual killer of everything good, yes you can't run from reality but you can always take a break from it.
I always have my head in the clouds, so we could maybe say fantasy? But honestly, it's just a coping mechanism so do what you think of that.
I prefer to live in reality.. But i read and game to escape reality when i need to de-stress
As a wise man once said "Reality s often disappointing".. But you gotta live in it because it's the read deal for you..
I definitely don't have a great life and I made and still make pretty questionable decisions.. LOL.. But, I guess I might as well live the ugly truth instead of a beautiful lie..
I like to envision the future that I wish to become reality.
I think it's healthy to want a good mix of both 🤷
I’d be like inception and always nervous I wasn’t in reality and put a gun to my head jnc.
Why is reality shown as a woman doing dishes?🤣
On tv or movies I like fantasy reality. I watch it to escape from reality.
FANTASY DEFINITELY... MY REALITY NOT A GOOD ONE
Can’t escape reality, sometimes sadly
You can't escape it, but You can take breaks. It's about preference, not about what You are forced to live through.
@CalmUntilAbused There are some things you can choose, there are others you cannot. The wise person knows how to distinguish between the two
Reality is still an easier pill to swallow
Reality for sure.
Reality with some imagination
Reality is enjoyable enough.
Depends sexually or just in life general
The Red Pill.
