How to react to unsolicited comments?

I don’t want to come out as rude but random people sometimes get on my nerves. I checked in in a hotel after a 15 hour flight. Flying can be draining and I was exhausted. As I was checking in the lady who wax helping me with the key said “You look so tired” I looked at her and she said “it’s really obvious” I did not appreciate these comments and honestly didn’t want to seem rude but all I wanted to say was that her comments were very unnecessary. How do you deal with these type of situations?

Ughhh that lady sounds like a real buzzkill, bustin' in tired after a long haul flight! Who does she think she is pointing out the obvious like that?

When people hit me with rude unwanted comments, I usually just give them a real sarcastic smile and eye roll. Like "No shit lady, thanks for noticing! Can I get my keys now?"

Or if I'm really annoyed and want them to know, I'll come back with something shady like "You look like you could use some minding your own business lessons!" While smirking hard.

Sometimes a glare and "Hm" sound is enough to make them realize they should've kept their mouth shut. Like look them up and down judgin' hard.

I try not to straight up curse people out either though, especially if it's somewhere I gotta stay or come back to later. Keep it petty not foul-mouthed, feel me?

And don't let it ruin your vibe either! Their miserable asses probably just get a kick outta bringing others down to their level. Dodged a bullet not having to be around that energy!

You deal with them with understanding… she wasn’t being negative to you. To me it sounded sympathetic on her part. I wasn’t there so I don’t know but I’m sure she wasn’t trying to insult you. People don’t always say things the right way or at the right time.

I learnt quite early that it is never a good idea to suggest a girl doesn't look like a million bucks. If a girl says she is tired you should feign surprise and say you don't look it.

I'm surprised a woman made this basic social solecism.
