Today is Super Sick Monday. Did you go to work today?

My boss banged in sick today. The empty parking lot tells me he is not the only one. I saw on the news that it is the biggest day for people to call in sick. Even when I had my worse hangovers there is no way I would ever not go to work.

I don't watch professional football, myself. It's just too weird watching grown men play kid games, leaving alone the fact that they get paid millions of dollars for it. Same goes for baseball and basketball, really. They are more freak shows than sports - anyone can throw a ball but to throw one at 100 miles per hour with pinpoint accuracy is freak territory.

I like hockey, though. For some reason that strikes me as exempt.

But I don't really drink in any case so I just have the normal daily headaches I can't really take off for..

In Australia, the same thing happens the day after the AFL Grand Final game. And there are rumours that the same thing happens in the day after a country wins the FIFA World Cup.

Let people celebrate... they'd be useless if they came to work anyway.

I work minimally from home (WFH), and have nothing to do today anyway. Most of my colleagues, who are work online with, are taking the day off.

The winning touchdown was thrown at 7:46 pm Pacific time. That was 10:46 on the east coast. A bit late for some people, but most should have no problems getting up for work on Monday. Apparently most were more interested in drinking than the game itself, so they were hung over on Monday.

I work every day, never took day off after superbowl Sunday, not a day off unless really sick. But I take a lot of vacation time. My wife went to work as well... and she getting over the flu.

We didn't watch the game, did planning and talking and rest.

The teachers union tried to make it a holiday a few years ago. A lot of people disagreed.

I don’t know why some people on here think that was a hoax I don’t believe that. No I don’t think it should be made into a holiday. I think it should just be up to the boss that should let people take off if they want. After the Super Bowl.
