What are your thoughts on Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul in a boxing match live on Netflix taking place in AT&T stadium?

Mike Tyson will face Jake Paul in a boxing match on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in the main event of a card that will air on Netflix.

Recently, when asked, Jake Paul said he could beat Tyson in a fight. I personally think that is laughable, even though Tyson is 56. I’ve seen some arguments that Tyson isn’t just 57 he’s a Boxer that’s 57, which would be a detriment, but I believe that only adds to his ability. This also isn’t to hate on Jake Paul, I just don’t think he could actually beat Tyson. Thoughts?

In my opinion, If it’s only gonna to be an exhibition fight and make people tune in on Netflix for this event, why would people even pay to come to a whole wide big stadium if they are only going to produce a few jabs at each other and holding back. Upi guess for the name value “Mike Tyson” will garner up viewers and interest to get those tuned for the fight. Sure, they both will earn a big purse from the bout which I read and said Paul believes a fight with Tyson would generation $300 million which is a lot but he’s lucky this isn’t the 1980s Mike Tyson cause we all know the younger Tyson would fuck this guy up, it wouldn’t even be close at all if they were the same age now.

What is your opinion on this? A 27 year old Jake Paul facing a 57 year old Mike Tyson?

Exciting. I don't know JP but what a great opportunity... how many people get to compete against the legends? I grew up watching Tyson destroy people with rage. I root for Mike, I like him as a person, as a boxer. He's invited to my house for dinner. I didn't realize I'm same age and dang, I know how hard that is to train at this age without setbacks. His recovery time will be long, his lungs won't be what they used to nor his legs. He will have to end it fast or else ropa dopa or some scheme.

That said, looking at the muscle difference... it's hard to overcome young power with wisdom. Good luck to them both... they are crazy! He's probably smart enough to not get killed and still make a mint. smart!

It's just a pay day for both of them.. I watched a video where they said Evander Holyfields loss to an MMA fighter could be an example of Mike vs Jake.. An old man past his prime getting beat by a much younger dude.. I've seen the videos of Evander training and he looks like he lost his touch.. Definitely a shadow of the dude who beat Mike Tyson and had him on the ropes in the second fight.. It's different for Mike though, he seems to be in top top shape still..

This whole fight between Tyson and Jake Paul is really just about that payday at the end of the day. Neither of these dudes really needs to do this for real competitive reasons. They're both set for life money-wise already.

I do think Tyson's situation is a bit different. Every video I've seen of him training lately, he still looks explosive as hell. Dude is clearly keeping himself in incredible shape even at his age. His physique is still crazy shredded too. He still seems like a total beast physically compared to most dudes half his age.

So while I don't think Tyson has to prove anything at this point in his career either, I don't think Jake Paul is gonna have as easy a time with him as Holyfield did against that MMA guy. Tyson still looks like he's got some of the killer instinct buried in there too, even if he might be holding back here.

I totally agree with your assessment.. It's just a payday for both of them.. They're both gonna draw in the excitement, get the money in and only throw a few jabs.. Lmao.. But yeah it's different for Mike.. Evander was slow even in his training video.. You could tell he just didn't have it anymore.. But not Mike he's still very explosive..

I know that MMA guy you say. He was Vitor Belfort. Belfort wasn’t a spring chicken himself, at 44, but there is a massive difference in the reflexes of a 44 year-old and a 58 year-old at the time they fought. Many boxers have had some success at 44. I know of none who have been successful at 58, especially after a decade of not fighting.

Holyfield was 58 and suffering from very obvious pugilistic dementia and neurological damage, and had been for years, since before he even retired 11 years ago prior. That doesn't get better with time, only worse. His coordination and balance were off and it was dangerous for him to be taking punches, and whoever licensed him should be charged with aggravated assault.

That’s all that is bruh but all this talk by Jake Paul saying he could beat Tyson was either to have an exhibition fight with him like they just got down now or actually believe he could beat the younger 1980s Tyson and even current older Tyson in a real boxing match. Shit, it’ll be a cold day when the boogeyman sleeps lol and even say time to put Tyson to sleep.

I knew he had some type of illness.. Damn the fight shouldn't have happened in the first place.. But TBH, that was probably on Holyfield.. Probably wanted to see if he still had it, even though he knew he had dementia.. Either that or he was strung for money.. Either way it's mess up.. You right, Mike doesn't have that problem.. He's a healthy close to 60 year old man.. Still got a lot of his reaction speed and power.. Paul's wonky boxing couldn't compete with that..

You’re right a bit that because the fact that Holyfield was a last minute replacement would indicate he has turned up strictly for the payday. His general attitude appeared to be that of a fighter who was looking for a way out, even before the referee stopped the action. Yes but at least Mike could move a bit still than Evander now but that old age catch up to you and plays a factor but the real question is will you watch this event on Netflix?
