I don't find it frustrating because not everyone can stay online for every conversation someone else wants you to be in. People get back when they can. If it's more than five to ten messages back you should schedule time to call whoever you're talking to or meet them in real life lol. I know that's so strange nowadays but it does work out easier so you're not waiting for someone to respond while they're trying to go about their life.
It's annoying if it became a regular practice. It could be a one off due to emergencies or work situation, but the person should let you know in advance that due to work, you may stop responding without notice or the chance to say "till later".

there was a book about a man some decades back, who was offered to live in a virtual reality perception, but pixelation of the visuals made him realize he needed to disband from the tech which would only have had him prisoner in a dream world.
what you experienced there is comparable to that pixelation in your relationship (or the perception thereof). feeding what could be the normal course of daily living in physical proximity to each other, and a sharing of common spaces, resources, and creed, through a technology such as the internet, which is at the mercy of greed and powermadness in society, is comparable in that it is in essence a trap in itself which more realistically actually prevents reliable human relationship than facilitates it. a time will come when having one's associates distributed beyond an easy walk to meet, will in essence separate you from them entirely, provided you are fortunate enough to have the character not to sell your soul for societal convenience. gathering in true commonly located intentional community now seems to be on the minds of many in preparation.
I hate that too. Another thing I find annoying; when people leave you on "read." Like apparently your message is important enough for them to read what you're saying to them, but they can't be bothered to respond? Or they just flat out don't answer your question.
I'm not even sure what to think about stuff like that. Especially when these are the same people acting like y'all are homies when they see you in person.
person: has life
you: oh my god i'm so triggered
It's rude
eh. having a life isn't rude. yes, a "i'll brb" would be nice, you're not entitled to it. chill the fuck out
I do that to distance myself emotionally from someone who I still love so I don't get hurt even more by her. She already hurt me way to much and I know she'll hurt me even more in the future which is why I leave to distance myself so I don't get hurt or not get hurt as much by her
It's a way of trying to shield myself and protect myself from her manipulation and abuse protecting myself from her emotional and mental abuse
Sometimes people have to do things and can't reply for a bit.
The level of neediness is endearing though, so I'm not going to tell you to change your expectations.
Do they tell you they're going mid sentence? or you're just waiting for a reply that doesn't come?
Just waiting they don't say anything
Oh , no that's just rude. I mean I talk to people online and leave regularly because of work, but I always say when I'm heading off.
I don't think I would bother talking to them again if they did that more than once!
Have you told them how annoying it is?
No..
Quite right. You shouldn't have to!
Next time this happens do not answer back when they decide to come back.
Right one
I answer when I can. But I'm not here all the time. So there might be some time passing between my messages.
Perhaps they have more important things to be doing
Sometimes, something comes up abruptly and they have to leave for a while. I've done this on occasion, because I can't chat long and have stuff to do.
I try not to let it bother me. Some of these apps aren't very good at notifications, including this one.
If you find it frustrating why do you keep doing it
I am not
You and I both, BadPear006 (Do you think you're a number less than 007, pal?)
yes, but you don't know why. just think of all the joints in the line between you and them
they probably got a phone call.
Yeah, but sometimes people get busy
Same here... its like ignoring and I hate it.
Extremely
Yeah
😆😆😆
