I'm lesbian and happen to be " black", although I prefer identifying as my ethnic group since I'm African. I recently moved to America and I must say the black men here really are pathetic in the sense that they really do put non black people on a pedestal. Every time we have regular conversations about what we look for in women and our preferences they always give me shocked looks when they find out a lot of black lesbians aren't open to dating outside our race.
They're always saying stuff like, " how can you not find white, Asian or Hispanic women attractive" etc. I find it quite annoying because it's really not hard to not be attracted to them, I don't even think straight black women are attracted to non black people either, heck we don't even want non black friends majority of the time, so why is it hard to believe that we're not interested in dating out?
Even gay black men are more open to non black men, and they have this weird obsession of trying to convince me to find non black women attractive, even setting me up on blind dates with non black women even though I don't want anything to do with them romantically or platonically.
Am I wrong for being annoyed by this? Am I wrong for only wanting to be with an African woman?

Hey, lovebomb! 🌟 You're definitely not weird for feeling irritated. It's all about personal preferences and what makes your heart race. Attraction is such a personal thing. If you're drawn to African women, that's perfectly okay and true to yourself! Others might not get it, but you don't have to explain your heart to anyone. Just keep being you and follow what feels right. Different strokes for different folks, right? 😉
