Do you knock or ring the doorbell?

Question

Anyone else not have a doorbell? How common is it to not have one? 🤔

doorbell if they have one, if it is a ring type then I take a step back so they can see me.
If there isn't one, then knock.
The majority of houses have doorbells, not all of them actually work, and for whatever reason there are a number of houses that do not have them.
We put in a wireless one at the firehouse.
It never had one, and depending where you are you would never hear the person knocking.

As for me I always call ahead & never show up unannounced & when I get there I usually do the old knock knock & all I hear is come in or they open the door.

As for my house I get notified when someone steps on my property & one of the eight cameras picks them up. As for my front door if someone rings the bell & I don’t know them I don’t answer it. On the flip side if she’s hot that is another story.

if I see a doorbell, I’ll bring it. If not, I’m banging on the door because based on the houses I visit (family) these mf are always upstairs acting like they didn’t hear the door

In PH, people don't have doorbells.. we just shout the name of each other like Romeo and Juliet, in hopes they will come out. 😆

If there is a doorbell, then I ring if there is not then I knock some people in our building don't have doorbells... hard to say what the reason is... maybe they don't like the sound?

If they have a door bell, I'll ring it. If I don't hear it I'll knock. If they don't have a door bell, I'll stand by the front porch and yell " ding dong". I yell really loud so they can hear me. That usually gets them to come to the door.

Sometimes when I yell "ding dong" they peak out a window and say "what". Then I know they are a ding dong.

i can't stand loud noises like you specified. it puts me in a panic mode. even the ringing of a phone sets me off. it's terrifying for me. i find it humorous to talk about but it's real.
