This has been studied extensively for a very long time, and the results are clear: the average man and the average woman have essentially the same level of intelligence.

What is different is the distribution curve - women have relatively few people at the far edges of the distribution curve - meaning there are fewer really smart women and fewer really dumb women, and more women nearer the average. Men have a wider and slightly flatter distribution curve: more men are very smart and more are very dumb, and fewer are average.

This means there are going to be more (and quite a few more) male geniuses than female geniuses, but also quite a few more male morons than female morons.

The other significant difference is that far more men tend to base their thinking around logic and reason, while women are more likely to base their thinking around their emotions. Obviously there are exceptions both ways. But this means that men are better suited to certain types of jobs and women better suited to others, which, shockingly, is highly reflected by the choices that men and women actually make when allowed to choose their career path.

There's an old saying that women are a lot like cats. If you think of the relationship between cats & humans... a cat could be super clever. A cat might even know how to drive a car if it put its mind to it. But it simply has no interest in such things. And yet it gets whatever it wants from humans.

So men and women are not supposed to be the same. But in a world where women claim that they are entitled to something BECAUSE they're "equal" to men then these kinds of questions come up as there is competition between genders (in the minds of women, not necessarily men).

I once found a chart/study that showed that while there were many men smarter than women there were as many man dumber than the average women.

Women on the other hand are more balanced and usually dont break out as much in either extreme.

i expected each group to say i am better.

but by now that has been measured. i put some sceeenshots in a mytake. no time to find it for you:

each percentile group, men were measured more intelligent by 3 or more points.

top 10% of each

160 i. q. =====

etc.

i. q. 95 to 105 almost everybody. i guess 80% male n female in this group.

Women are smarter than men in what they do and know about and men are smarter than women in what they do and know about. Equal footing, just in different ballparks.
Am I smarter than Robert Fripp because I know how to play drums and he doesn't? Is he smarter than me because he knows how play guitar and I don't?

I think history alone would tell you that.

I think the intelligence of men is more tied to both physical and mental capabilities. To build, govern, explore, fight etc, as well as academics but women are generally more pushed solely towards academics and sometimes governance.

Based on the results of history you'd think men but whether that's innately in our brains or chemical makeup, I don't know.

Depends on which kind of intelligence we’re talking about. If we’re talking about logic and rational thought, then yeah men are smarter. If we’re talking about emotional intelligence, then women are smarter. Of course these are only generally true, meaning it’s true most of the time. But sometimes qualities cross over, or even switch.

Generally speaking men average 3-4 iq points higher than women. Also in terms of smartest people there are more men than women because it is rarer for women to reach those levels

Depends on how you measure "smart." Politically smarter, I think yes. Logically smarter, I think yes. Spatially smarter, I think yes. Emotionally smarter, I think no.
