I’m not happy with being a woman because I don’t feel attractive. I’ve always wanted to be beautiful like other girls/women growing up.

I was always the unattractive girl in the room and I was a bit of a tomboy…

Just the pain of men not paying you any attention or not even knowing what it’s like to be loved by one.

I really cannot accept how I look and I’m afraid to ruin myself with cosmetic surgery.

I’ve been thinking about just changing my gender. I have for a bit but I’m still feminine

You'd do far better to address the problem from the other end. If you can't stand without the support of others, you wouldn't last long as a man. And if you think no one pays attention to you NOW...

It's not even that you'd be trading in one set of problems for another one that you think you might be better able to deal with; it's keeping many of the same issues and getting new ones on top of that.

Building yourself up psychologically would serve you better. As with most things, taking milder steps (and more assertive ones) is safer than diving headfirst into the deep end. And before you do anything irreversible, I'd strongly suggest you read Norah Vincent's Self-Made Man. It's the story of what she saw and experienced when she went undercover as a man for several months and got a look at how the other half lives.

You have to ask yourself your reasoning cause you don't just become trans. You are born that way really from what I've been told. If you aren't happy being a woman because you aren't getting the attention you want, that doesn't make you trans. It just means you are unsatisfied with your appearance/lack of options. That being said there are femme men and if this is really the route you want to go down then it's your choice.

If you still like men don’t transition. Getting on testosterone for women can cause a lot of unsavory side effects that don’t get talked about, like balding and horrible body odor. Women think they will be an attractive man, then end up as an IT guy with a receding hairline. Not to mention if you want a penis, they take a huge chunk of your arm or leg off to create it. Look up pictures of that surgery if you really want to lose any desire to transition.

Just stay as a tomboy, and find a nice guy who’s into that. You will be far happier after that.

Hard to tell how bad the situation is without a picture, how is becoming a man would help with looks, because men are not expected to be pretty? you afraid of cosmetic surgery but you not afraid of trans surgery? which tend to be a more extreme thing, or you want to become a transman without a surgery, it possible but then what the difference between that and being a tomboy? anyway I don't believe that a true sex change is possible, that's why I would never date a transwoman.

If you want to fool around with women, that's fine. Don't ruin your body and health with surgeries and hormones. Just learn to accept yourself and your body instead of to pretending be a man. That's ridiculous.

Men pay attention to women who pay attention to them. I've seen women with faces like witches and bulldogs with boyfriends and husbands because they knew they were ugly and stayed in their league. I'm sure you are better looking than them and can get a guy or girl. there's no need to mutilate yourself. For example, I'm kind of short, kind of fat, and middle aged. I'm not going to expect a young beautiful woman to be attracted to me, that's not realistic. You need to work on your social skills.

You say you're unhappy because you're unattractive. I don't know how accurate that is, but you can be assured that changing your gender won't make you any more attractive, to either sex.

Of course that's just my unqualified opinion and you would need a comprehensive psychological evaluation before you could get the surgery.

It's hard to get the attention of a woman as a man so it'll only become more difficult if you transition. That's if you're into women. If you're still into men I don't know how that community would accept you. But I'm sure there are guys that would.
