For those of you celebrating the 4th of July, will you be lighting fireworks tomorrow?

Do you stock up before the fourth or do you buy at the last minute?  Also for bonus points: any stories of fireworks mishaps?

I buy them last minute because they are usually half off. I spend about 400 dollars and let my neighbor light them. About 5 or 6 years ago, I bought a "brick" of fireworks. There were twenty in a box and they are supposed to go off one at a time with about twenty seconds between them. Anyway, something went horribly wrong and three went off at once, causing the box to flip on it's side. Then they started going off one after another and flying sideways, in all different directions. People were running and screaming, it was an extremely dangerous situation! I decided I had to do something, so I ran over and laid my body on the box. It was just something I had to do! The pain was undescribable and I actually caught on fire but it was worth it. There's no telling how many lives I saved. I don't remember much, because I lost consciousness. I do remember being woke up when my neighbor was putting me out with his garden hose. When I was able to stand, the entire neighborhood erupted into applause.

Last minute.

I had a fireworks mishap when I was like 14 or so. I taped together a bunch of bottle rickets and fire crackers. The idea was to launch the whole thing up, then it expodes and launches other bottle rockets. I didn't account for a number of things but among them I didn't anticipate the fuses burning at significantly different rates. So, it exploded immediately and the bottle rockets then went off in different directions. One hit my sister in the butt. No injuries, fortunately..

I go watch the professional ones. As for fireworks mishaps, yes... when I was a kid my uncle did something stupid and the damned thing tipped over started shooting out fireworks and we were all jumping, running and dodging. One hit my mom on the leg and she was bleeding. It wasn't fun, haha.

No. I find the sound more annoying than i actually enjoy watching the fireworks. But i know the neighbors will pop them for the rest of the week until 2am and ruin my sleep. Wish i was goin to the casino

Too many wildfires and it's smoky as hell in my area. The only time the whole community is happy for a full forecast of rain on a holiday is how bad it is in my area.

It also doesn't get dark here. It's like our sun is a light bulb and night time is the light bulb with a lampshade on. So there really is no point. You light fireworks in the winter when it's dark at 3:00pm. In the summer the sun rises at 3:00am.

I wouldn’t call it mishaps but me and a few friends used to go to the park and shoot bottle rockets and Roman candles at one another. We would all separate and start trying to hit the other guy…. Yes now and then someone would get hit…. But not to often, they are hard to aim….
