Do you find yourself using "and I also" (or something similar) rather than "me too"?

I was chatting with my friend the other day and realized we were both doing the same thing... nodding and saying ANYTHING OTHER THAN "me too" because of the stigma that's now associated with those two little words.

There was a lot of "yeah, same here" which seemed organic enough till I said, "and I also... " and paused. We both knew I could've just said, "me too" ... So we both laughed and the conversation veered towards the whole "me too" thing and how warped and out-of-proportion it's become (just like any present-day movement).

So, guys and gals, I'd like to know... what expression have you subbed into your daily conversations to replace "me too"?

Hmm... I'm trying to wrack my brain for all my memories and I can't ever recall trying to avoid the phrase "me too". I definitely don't use it as often as I say "same here" or "I also" just because they tend to flow better off the tongue. I'd say I mostly use "I feel ya". But I occasionally say something like "me too man." when I'm having a conversation with my buddy and we relate on an experience or feeling.

Me too is a women's movement that started year's ago.
One day the affected women who had been sexually assaulted wore all black that day and stood together to show just how many women and girls have been sexually assaulted.

It's the Me Too women's movement.

Just keep saying me too like you always have. It's not offensive to still say me too whenever you want to.

I just meant that I've never really avoided it at all. It's common speech. The only words that I've probably removed from use are "rainbow" and "unicorn" over the years 😂

Yeah absolutely and it’s a sad thing. Because it does hurt women who are legitimate victims of some type of harassment. Not just wanting to get back at someone, having a fling with someone being embarrassed or got our, or getting into a fight with someone.

Liars piss me off a lot. Especially when they themselves have engaged in inappropriate behavior

No, I haven't, but I get where you are coming from with avoiding it. If I used it more, I might do the same. But I don't usually use that phrase. I tend to say things like "Right?" or "I get/hear that" or "Yes! Oh, I'm with you on that" or "Same", etc. in regular conversation.

I rarely say "me too" other than when I am speaking French then I do say moi aussi on occasion.

It's just a political trend that's going to die down. I'm not going to let it restrict my vocabulary although I do think it is cute how you and your friend both shunned that witch hunt movement.

I thought so too, but it's turned me off from using the phrase and I found that it was the same response that a lot of people are having as well.

I don’t think I have ever used me too when chatting, it is not really something that would flow. Me as well, yeah Sames, me also, that would be more natural.

I don't understand I say me's too, I don't get why youngsters are so offended by words or beliefs id love for them to see what it was like growing up before, maybe they stop complaining and just be fighting fit and ready
