I won't elaborate much, but let's say I did some really egregious things in my past where I am lucky I am not dead or in prison.
I was extremely mentally ill, but no matter the reason, it doesn't mean others are to blame for disassociating themselves with me. I cannot blame them.

Can you change the past? Can you dictate the future? Love your life the right way going forward and you'll balance the world out from the bad you did before. Think of it like karma. You have some debt to repay, and once you do, you'll feel a whole lot better about the damage you did before.
Alcoholics and addicts, as part of the 12 steps, will try to make amends to the people they've hurt along the way. You can try that too. It's part of what lets them recover and lets them shed some of that shame they carry around with them everywhere they go.
Maybe not "nothing left to do", but focus on what I do have control over and strive to be a better person?
Yeah. But I mean that the past part is already settled.
