How often are people you see in dreams real people?

Like recognizable? Or unrecognizable. I read somewhere each human in our dreams is someone we’ve seen before. If we don’t recognize them in the dream, we just hadn’t remembered them. They say the brain can’t create faces in dreaming, but maybe it’s a lie? 🤷‍♀️ we can dream up crazy stuff like demons and all. Maybe dreams are just creations or combinations of scenarios but the objects/ variables within are always things or people we’ve seen/encountered before.

Most people in my dreams were recognizable though.

I don't dream in details. Most of the time I do not even remember my dreams. I dream about representational figures and not lifelike figures and I rarely dream about people I know.

Like I had one dream that I went to a gas station and bought 3 different types of yogurt and ice cream and icicles and each food represented a guy that I was interested in.

I had other dreams telling me to use certain themes in my pen name and I had dreams telling me what to avoid and what to select in my books.
