There's an old saying...
You can tell a lot about a man by the way he handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
What do you think? Do you agree with this adage?

I have never heard that particular adage, but I suppose they're all things that test a man's reaction to stress. I have heard the first part of “You can tell a lot about a man by the way he…”. many times, but the endings of that sentence that I have heard more often are:
1). treats those who can do nothing for him.
2). handles adversity.
3). spends his free time.
and
4). treats his mother.
All of the above, including the adage, you wrote, our good ways to get a snapshot in time about the personality of a particular man. But it's a very shallow method of getting to know somebody, especially holistically. Spending time with him one on one talking to him is a much better way to get to know a guy. I would never base my opinion on someone based strictly on one particular aspect of their personality.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely, Laura 🤗 🥰
Thank you SO much for the MHO, I really appreciate that 😘
Bit long winded, but it's true that how people react to life's little problems is a good indication of their character.
After all, People trip over molehills not mountains.
Christmas tree lights require methodical work and so I will give that a tick.
Lost luggage tick again, you need to keep your shit together under pressure.
A rainy day I am not impressed by. Very common. At worse you find indoor tasks. At best it might mean you had a little minimal foresight to buy wet weather gear and can go outside.
The rain doesn't bother me in the slightest, neither would twisted tree lights. The lost luggage thing though, depending on whether it had gone to a better destination than I did!
Thank you Tom for MHO. Much appreciated.

Those situations all test a man's patience.
rainy day... fun
lost luggage... not fun
tangled Christmas tree lights... that's my actual Christmas joy, every year...
That traditional saying must not be that old... referencing modern issues such as lost luggage or Christmas tree lights :)
It makes sense. But I prefer the Four Postmen's version: "you can tell a lot about a man by how he strangles you". More universal.
Yep. You see how he handles a little dampness and a small disaster, then how good he is with his hands. Those three things are usually the most you may have to deal with on a daily basis.
Yeah! I always liked
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."
It doesn't make any sense. Watch how he treats the lowest person in the room.
1. Go back to bed.
2. Relax, work the problem.
3. Take the time and untangle them.
OK, what does that say about me. 😆
That sounds more like how you handle frustration.
I really don't know... but I'll say yes.
Interesting, I would add a traffic jam.
True, but the same is also true of women.
Yes.
Honestly? Meh.
