That's a thoughtful question! Balancing living in the moment with planning for the future is a tricky but important part of life. Ideally, it’s about finding a balance that works for you.
Living for the moment can lead to rich, fulfilling experiences and help you enjoy life as it happens. On the other hand, making sacrifices now to build a better future can provide stability and opportunities later on.
It often depends on your personal values, goals, and circumstances. Some people find a balance by setting aside time for both immediate joys and long-term planning.
I have made sacrifices from the present in the hope that I have a better future. I don't know how it will work out
I'm rooting for you, @exitseven. I'm proud of you regardless.

I am building for the future but still living for today. Sadly I should have started building way sooner then I did.
I'm kinda the opposite I had to spend my youth figuring myself out and surviving and building up life skills. And now I'm in a pretty good place and I have a friend who's chaos and destruction (also self detruction) and lies and delusion and something about that life is just pulling me towards it but I don't want to destroy what I built and still am building either so it's kinda difficult but I'll see what happens.
I have a tendency to oversave. I wouldn't word it live for tomorrow. Because I'm always in the moment, enjoying the moment. But enjoying the moment doesn't mean you have to bet the farm.
I hold to my mother's maxim whereas money is concerned "spend some, save some, and give some away".
I've always acted and planned for the future but im STILL terrified of outliving my money. Am i the only one?
No I don't think you're alone in that. I'm lucky until now I've been able to get by well with disability. But atm my savings are shrinking. I feel like as I get older I also want to spend more money not consciously but just because I've become more socially active and I need more to be content now than I did before. So in the future I might have some problems but I might also be able to earn more money in the future we'll see how it goes. But I wasn't just talking about money but all aspects of life. Health, relationships, etc.
Hey, the future doesn't matter if the present is terrible.
Probably...
I live for now while saving up enough for future and even invest it.
Tricky balancing act
@DrPepper12 as long as you're smart amd rational with it
Ueah but what if you live to 85 in vigorous health? It keeps me up at nite!
@DrPepper12 thats the best case scenario, we're not supposed to think about that /s
Life is short. Balance is key.
Make sacrifices now for the future.
Your two poll options are exactly the same.
Drugs and drinking? Wow. I never would have thought of it that way.
Well i asked this question because I know people who have a very self destructive lifestyle and most of it I wanna stay away from. But with some things I'm like why am I restricting myself like this when I could just make things easy and just do things without thinking. There is something alluring about it. So that's why I'm conflicted. The picture I put in is the self sabotaging part of what I see with these people.
Why would you ever do drugs, period, though? That will ruin your life permanently.
balance...
