It was part of a larger NATO exercise, 2 x B52s were deployed to Romania

it’s part of working up other Air Force groups including Sweden, Finland and Romania. The base is sort of QRA south.
Well... Romania is part of NATO so the stationing of B-52 Bombers may well be plausible. Romania is also on the Black Sea same as Ukraine. So from a NATO, strategical, point of view it makes sense
That aside... That's one hell of a RC controlled B-52; awesome

Having a massive RC BUFF is certainly a big commitment - that thing won't even fit in a garage - you'd need a REAL aircraft hanger to store it unless you took it apart each time. That's crazy.
are you serous... we've got nuclear... large bombers closer to russia?
some people really want to see the human population reduced by half don't they...
The article was real though.
On a routine mission, U. S. B-52 bombers flying in international airspace were intercepted by two Russian aircraft over the Barents Sea. This happened around 8 a. m. Central European Time.
Despite the intercept, the B-52s maintained their course and continued their mission as planned. They integrated with NATO fighter aircraft before landing at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in Romania.
First-Time Operations from Romania
This deployment marks the first time U. S. strategic bombers have operated out of Romania. The B-52s will be based at the Romanian Air Base near the Black Sea coast. During their stay, they will work closely with NATO Allies and other international partners. The goal is to synchronize capabilities and reinforce security commitments across the U. S. European Command area of responsibility.
ugh... wrong direction.
We should all be thankful Putin is patient and well calculated. the next one may not so rational.
I'll think harder about getting backup generator and plan for worse... just in case.
What it would take for a serious "miscalculation"... is very little.
Um, what does that model of a B-52A have to do with that photo of a B-52H?
Just takes a switch in paint and you got one or the other.
No. Also there's 50 years of b52 stock photos so why fake.
Good question.
Two different planes… the yellow tip on the plane that is flying as well as the landing gear on the tip end of the wings of the landing plane. Two different planes….
I know that. But there can be more than a few in existence. With the Government, there can be a whole wing of them.
Too shiny. I've watched too many youtube channels with models having fun.
Yeah, the democrats hate Trump so bad they're willing to sacrifice the whole planet, animals and all just to keep him out of the White House.
The model plane is not the same as the one landing, but it doesn't look real because there is sunlight shining on it that is not in the rest of the picture.
These pix are of different planes. The first one does not have a white roof, and the model does not have wing-tip tanks/ordinance.
Looks pretty cool either way.
it did look fake.
