Do you feel safe when out in public whether be day or night time and how safe do you feel?

I have felt unsafe once, i think, in my entire adult life. It was just a couple of years ago. It was nighttime, but that had nothing to do with why i was concerned. I went out without my phone, in an area i didn’t know. But i just walked from my hotel to a restaurant and bar. While i was there, i met some kool people who asked me to join them for their night festivities at a nearby speakeasy. I agreed. Unfortunately, i had my fill before they did. So i left. Not knowing where exactly i was or how we got there and not having my phone handy was disconcerting. I figured it was a small town and i could figure it out if i only found one familiar road. Fortunately i was correct! I eventually made it back to my hotel with no problems. My biggest worry was getting arrested for public drunkenness. Of course, as drunk as i was and knowing the area… if i had stumbled upon a bear, someone else would probably be telling this story. Ell oh ell!

I hate going through the town centre after the shops have closed up till about 7.30pm

It's a grim place, loads of scumbags and bored teenagers roaming around. They smile in your face, but could attack from behind if you are not careful or just unlucky.

It is reassuring that some people do keep an eye on me through CCTV because they know I have been attacked once before.

But, I feel I cannot cave in under my fears... and will keep going through town

(I only avoid my ex... the Black Widow... she's a danger to my well being)

No! I do not feel safe anymore!

I'd like to be able to have a normal day to go shopping for stuff and not have to worry I'm going to get carjacked or have someone run off with my purse, or run me over with their car.
It's kinda ironic that I never used to feel this way until idiot joey became the president.

I walk alone through both town and countryside here at all times of day and night and feel completely relaxed. If you do see any trouble it's always between other people who've a beef with each other and it's rare to be attacked by a stranger.

All times is a stretch, yet I "usually" feel or have felt safe at all times of the day, being a male. That's not to say een me a 30s male could always be potentially robbed by another male or I could even be assaulted by another male particularly if he's not straight and I am straight. The sorts of things maybe more men should overthink about, as in my mind, I'm always wary of my surrounds as if I was a vulnerable person myself, note I didn't say "a woman" or "elderly person" either to describe "as if I was a vulnerable person. Plus I'm always wiser not to be a gullible person either, someone may say "hey sir could you help me..."

It really depends where I am. In areas that I normally frequent, I feel safe all the time, day or night. There are some areas that I occasionally go to where I'm more vigilant at night, and there are areas I rarely go to where I'm more vigilant any time of day or night.

I live in an area that is considered to be very safe. I can also handle myself in a fight should I need to.

In fact, I was given some very good advice many years ago. That was, before buying a house somewhere, go and take a walk around late at night. If you don't feel safe, don't buy the house!

Almost always. Head on a swivel, don’t get caught slippin’, but for the most part, I feel very safe.

The exception, and I guess it’s a big one, is driving. I don’t always feel safe while driving because people are driving distracted or flying around like maniacs, as if driving isn’t the most potentially dangerous thing most of us do everyday.

But as far as “being the victim of a crime”, I have next to no paranoia about that kind of situation occurring.

Where I live, yes. In larger places like Milwaukee and Chicago not really. Milwaukee is more of "awareness" rather than "unsafe"

Chicago I won't venture to anymore.

In the rural bits around where I live its not people that have me nervous, its the animals. Though few and far between there are still pedators in the midwest.

Too many bad people have taken over the streets and with DEFUND the police there are not enough cops even if the perp is arrested he is let go before the police finish their paperwork. Thank You To THE DEMOCRATIC COMMUNIST PARTY OF AMERICA and JOE BIDEN and company for this nightmare.

I live in the shitty part of Europe. It is not safe, especially at night. When I was younger I couldn't understand it, I thought I was "invincible" and "bulletproof". After a few events occurred, I woke up.
