in general... it's safe... but of course... you never know when and where someone with really wrong intentions would cross your way...

so I try to be reasonable... no walking alone at night in secluded areas... as the city is busy 24/7 it's fairly safe there

When I was 18 years old, I used to go out many times in the middle of the night to wander around alone, but whenever the police saw me, they would always stop me and say, son, go home, otherwise we will not be able to differentiate between you and the criminals and you will get trapped in a misunderstanding.

I certainly can't speak for France as a whole, too much diversity, towns and ambiances of all sizes, from the poorest to the wealthiest. In my city, 400k humans not counting pets, I felt and I feel safe anyway what the clock says, days or nights.

Yes... that looks so peaceful and relaxing. A dark and cold night, noone around... except the fog... and some weird noises over there... in the high grass.

  well not really, especially where i live. Honestly I could take a nap in a local park and probably be fine. It's just I don't like being alone in the dark. It's scary.

I can't really answer that, because my country is MASSIVE so it really depends on the area. But generally speaking, NO. If it's not people I have to worry about, it's dangerous animals

  It's not just about which city, it very much depends where in the city. Madrid is big and there's a big difference between walking through and shady back alley near the central station and being in a popular bar district or fancy shopping street. Also 11pm there are usually still a lot of people out which makes it less bad. Just need to be careful of pickpockets, especially in tourist areas

  A lot of people still outside at11:00 P. M? That's interesting because here in Germany at 8:00 PM the city turns to a ghost town.

  Depends of course on the area but especially in summer when it's very hot over the day, people prefer to go out in the evening. Most shops are closed but people still go for food and drinks late
