What can I do about this creepy old man who purposely sits next to me every time I see him? I end up getting up and leaving immediately but he still?

He still sits beside me and then tries to talk to me. I have spoken to him once because he asked me a question about some papers, I answered to not be rude, then every time I saw him it’s like I’m his friend. I don’t want to be his friend, he’s creepy and he clearly doesn’t get the signal as it’s over 10 times

Yes today I was at McDonald’s and he sat near me and I was embarrassed cuz I got up immediately to get away from him. Now people probably think I’m rude and discriminating. But yes you’re right I will do that next time. I want to say something every time but he leaves me speechless and creeped out

I can partially guarantee people are feeling sympathy for you more so than thinking you are rude. They would probably like to step in but don't want to put themselves on the line. Chances are it would put more people at ease than you might imagine if you just told him something like "I already have a grandfather and am not looking for a replacement, thanks." As you leave. He will offer some excuse but it will be more for his own ears.
