This old guy at work is making me uncomfortable...what to do?

I recently began a new job at a sandwich joint and there's a creepy (not to mention a loser) maintenance guy in his 40s or 50s who works there. He's basically been making me feel uncomfortable since day 1, when he told me "You should smile more. You look much better when you smile." Basically I just ignored him at first, but it's been getting worse recently. Oh, and also, rumor has it that he enjoys the company of barely legal girls (I'm in my early 20s).

I talked with the guy a little more after that (I had to, we were on the same shift) and everything was okay for about a week. But a few days ago he came up to me and told me I was "too good-looking to be working at this joint." I brushed it off (had to think fast and couldn't think of anything else) but about an hour later he said "You're one gorgeous lady." Again, ignored him. But ever since then every time he sees me he calls me "sweetie."

What do I do to deal with this guy? This is seriously freaking me out. I have no idea what to do. Should I report him to my boss? Continue ignoring him? Give him a snappy comeback (can't think of one at the moment)? PLEASE HELP!

if someone makes you uncomfortable - speak up! closed mouths don't get fed. if the guy makes a comment at you that's obviously inappropriate and you don't like it, give him a mean look once. let him know that you are not flattered by his comments and you don't want him saying things to do. and always cover your bases by speaking to a higher-up about him. you have the right not to be made to feel uncomfortable in the work place. you might not be the only girl he does this too.

tell the store manager! go to the office and be like I have to talk in confidentiality, and be honest. There are work laws about this and its a big deal. I had a similar problem and I told my manager and they took care of it immediately, theyll either write him up, give him work probation or depending on how serious it is, theyll fire him.

chicka I know its hard but tell him "aye I don't want you talkin to me like that I am a woman and should be treated with respect!" then tell the manager and the owner of the company after that if he doesn't leav you alone file for harrasment

You could say to him the next time he throws a compliment your way... "My boyfriend says the same thing all the time. He's an MMA Fighter."

Then again, tell your manager he's bothering you and it's either a complaint against the work place or his job.

that is called harrassment, and should be reported to the manager. If the manager doesn't take action you should get asn atty.
