What unlucky thing has happened to you lately?

Today my car broke down 5 minutes after I filled the tank at the gas station. It’s sitting in my driveway after being towed home. Ugh. Now I’ve got to save up to take it to a mechanic.

As for unluck for me-

I’d say bad timing has happened to me a lottt and long time now.

I’ve caught a few breaks and winds to catch my breath and get caught up / all set in everything, but for the most part just some bad timing. ⏱️

I locked myself out of the office today. I was suppose to leave midday but I’m still at work since the locksmith won’t make it until 5:30. Really considering it breaking a window.

I had a TIA stroke and seizure on December 9 of last year. During one of the Seizures, I tore my left triceps pretty badly. Fortunately, it has healed up on its own and I didn't need reconstructive surgery, but my left hand is now 50% numb since then. It was already having some numbness even before the stroke and seizure.

I broke my leg and damaged ligaments following a Rugby accident. Some would say that was pretty unlucky!
As for your car, can you explain the symptoms? Did it grind to a halt? Did it just stall and wouldn't turn over? What noises did it make?

I got offered 2 jobs both paying the same. One a big company with 250 plus staff who will pay 70 percent in hand and rest annually. The second, a 50 people firm that will pay all 100 in hand but high pressure, which makes no time for study. Choose the former, only to realised the 10 percent of the 30 will be paid after 5 years along with toxic work culture and overtimes without compensation.

Haven't driven my car in forever but it was working the other day. A tire was on my hose so I tried to start it up to move the car, but the battery is magically dead and both longterm charging and jumping it did not work. Now I need a new battery for my car.

Oh my gosh this is so honest! I’m really sorry and one thing I’ll try to recommend cause I’m almost in similar cases

Is if you have a car sleep in it and try to find work from there and if you can pay for a gym membership that has a gym shower, then you can use the showers there to keep fresh. Use the car to hold belongings like papers, and you can obtain food from local food banks/pantries.

So food source: food bank
Shelter source: car

Hygiene source: gym showers

And job source anything local.

You can try “couch surfing” / staying at friends or relatives places until you find a job and can save up from there.

You can try shelter/ applying for section 8 if you’re in USA.

You can also try renting a place with roommates or relatives if you have some money in savings and not yet homeless.

If homeless- options are:

Car/ friends-family houses/ shelter- section 8 / or some place ou can work with the government or non profit agencies.

You can also try a local church and ask for help there.

Food can only come
From donations (food bank) or income (having some job)

Shelter varies

And ofc the hygiene can be found at gyms/ Friends-family places/ possibly shelters/ and any sports facilities. Maybe even a hospital if you needed. Or some pool house/beach house.

Wet wipes can help if you don’t have access to water soap or bathroom privacy.

And a bag for papers/ belongings can help you keep organized. I hear the number one tip is safety first/ and keeping tidy. As well as a positive calm mind for simply moving forward. Cause moving is the main priority.

If you need free WiFi for job applications or searching / reaching out to other resources

Consider fast food places like McDonald’s. Or stores with 24 hour service. Churches can also have as well as the food banks.

Reaching out to job hiring agencies/agents/ therapists/ life coaches and maybe even pastors can help you get guidance and some reassurance for the situation.

I believe in you and I literally just tried to sum up everything I could remember and I apologize if it seems overwhelming.

The best food to eat I think would be carbs / starches like potatoes pastas/ soups. Beans. It takes longer to break down and will keep you full. 👍

Thank you for your support. Fortunately, for now, I'm able to gather enough to pay the rent for my tiny place. Food can be a bit hit or miss, but as long as I have a few pounds to lose, I won't complain. Sometimes, someone at work has a birthday or something, and I manage to get a free donut or a piece of cake. It's not the best diet, but I can't be fussy. It's summer, and companies are eager to fill vacation gaps with temporary workers. But by the fall, I need to find a permanent job.
