I was born introvert and has had a fair share of bullying, sexual harassment and trauma all before the age of 14. Also highly ignored by my parents. I understand they were busy building lives. But lately Im very problamatic
1. I loose my cool when someone dirties my place or enter home with dirty shoes.
2. Goes all ballistic when someone tries to judge me on my clothes or make fun of me or when they make fun of my job or education or when they ask me to wear clothes that I don't like. It feels like being forced to change my persona. I am now working in the IT ans definitely earn much more than all freshers in my family did. Earlier I would let it slide but not anymore.
3. When anyone oversteps boundaries or enter bedroom without permission (Distant family like uncle's uncle's son's wife), I ask them to get out and if they don't, I get angry
4. When some one criticise me, not in a very soft way but rather irritated and loud, I would get defensive.
5. when people use my parents, Im quick to spot and warn. But instead my parents are upset at me. This has caused a lot of issues. Eg: A relative milking from them for money and remain absent at the time of need or refused to pay rent citing non existent issues. Or another relative who beauty shamed me for my disease and expected my parents to feed and care for her illegitimate child while she builds a new life abroad with teen daddy.
6. I am still upset. and disappointed at my parents for them never truing to stick with me or help when I got harassed and abused. As for their explanation, someone abused me coz of my clothes (Mind I was barely 11). Or when a man repeatedly verbally harassed me in front of them coz they gave him the freedom to cross (They said if they would ask him, he would feel hurt).
7. My parents would Never listen until I shout. And they shout at me all things like making a stupid mistake or when I ask them to speak slow coz they were disturbing neighbours.
Am I ass hole or mentally sick now?
