Anyone know about Old Pump Action Shotguns?

Mine is a Winchester SXP Defender Pump-Action Shotgun

The metal needs some work on yours. It looks like it's starting to pit from moisture... If you have exposed metal like that, look into buying some gun grease and paint it on with a makeup brush or something. I use Birchwood Casy Rig universal gun grease. It will stop further damage in long-term storage. If you're not shooting it, then use it internally as well.
If you're going to put work into it, and polish it down, get some of that paint made for guns... Then grease the paint too after that. There are special 'gun socks' you can get that also help keep the moisture out... cheap on Amazon or something.
I'm pretty positive that's a Marlin Model 1898, not a Winchester. Unfortunately it looks to have a lot of surface rust and I'm sure some pitting in the metal - it was stored improperly and was exposed to moisture/humidity without being oiled regularly - but there's still going to be some interest in it. Don't expect to get a ton of money for it, but you could probably get a couple hundred bucks.

All I know about them is they are good at fending off intergalactic parasites but at the cost of splash damage.
Is there a maker stamped on it? A stupid question I suppose as you'd given that with the serial number.
Would need a few more pictures of the gun and see if there is any other markings
Is that a shotgun or a rifle? Those old pump 22 rifles can be worth something.
Go to the target range and start practice I just have a Mossberg 500 Woodstock
Might be an old winchester 97

Hard to tell without seeing more
take it to the pawn shop
Better yet, take it to a gun store and put it on consignment. Buyers go nuts over Winchester rifles.
