Hey, my name is Alex, and I overthink a lot, and I really need some help.
So, have you ever been an overthinker?
If yes, feel free to share, and if you find anyways to control it, please share. :)

There's no such thing. I mean we think about things and we try to figure out the best outlet the best way possible to either make it work whatever we're doing whatever we're thinking about that's who we are we're going to figure things out..
Either you're just going to spin in circles or you're going to figure it out and move on to the next idea project insight that you might have.
Look at all the things you've been thinking about when do you stop thinking about them when it's fixed when the problem when the project whenever whatever it might be is completed and you move on to another one..
And then in time you realize there's so many different levels of whatever it might be that you were thinking of you move on to the next step the next level.
It's like math somebody says hey do you know math sure subtraction addition.
Brain doesn't stop there because now they bring up division and multiplication your brain doesn't stop there.
Is now there's algebra.
. And there's trig it just there's so many different levels of everything in life there is no such thing as overthinking
Overthinking being a word said way too many times about way too many different situations, I'd rather not presume the meaning, I'd prefer hearing it your meaning. Please elaborate, What do you consider overthinking, inside you?
I'm an over thinker and what's helped me is simply asking my self if it's worth that much thought or energy. If it's something that means a lot to you than it's worth more thought ( i. e how to fix your relationship, how to focus more in school, how to get your bills paid after a major financial expense) then that requires deep though. Versus insignificant things.
Now it's going to be up to you to distinguish which is which but the insignificant things you should basically not care about. Every now and then on my commute I contemplate telling the driver who keeps hitting the brakes so hard to learn how to drive but will that really do anything? Probably not make sense?
The positive about it is that you’re protecting yourself.
The challenging part of it is that you can hurt yourself. An easy and simple strategy is recognizing it is your own thoughts vs reality. Take a step back, breathe and distract yourself, and come back to it when you’re calm and ready. Hope that helps :)

Keep things in proportion. Look at most likely outcomes not all out comes. So for example imagine planning a long drive
Get there safely. Highly likely
Die in a pile up. Highly unlikely
Have a bump. Highly unlikely.
Get a bit lost. Small chance.
Get a ticket. Small chance.
Get hijacked by bandits. Highly unlikely
Pick up an std in a road stop toilet. Highly likely
You get the general idea. Lots could go wrong but they probably won't. Have a generic plan for the most likely problems but keep things in proportion
Nah I'd rather keep being a nervous wreck, without causing a wreck or being in a wreck or witness to one either or worse or scarier 🌠😋✌🏻
Yeah.
Exercise, meditation and reading can help.
It can also help if you start learning a new skill.
Basically, constantly distracting yourself can help with over-thinking and anxiety.
Some good things to remember:
1. No one judges you as much as you do
2. No one can read your mind
3. You are not as noticeable in public as you think, most people are as much in their own heads as you are and barely see you unless they know you
4. Mindfulness practices can help in separating your thoughts from your consciousness, which can tame the overthinking habits quite a lot
Alex... my name is Alex also and I'm ur age. Sometimes I overthink if it is something new or complex but I try to keep it simple. With girlfriends I try to keep it simple and fun. What areas do u overthink... is it about girls, sex, jerking off or other things?
practice... practice, practice, and practice
oh yeah, and time. it's different for everyone on the how but it helps
Yea. Ot easy… depends what its about.
Prayer… turning over to hogher power of God. Positive reinfoecement… thinking positice, thankful, etc
Takes work… find the source.
I do not generally overthink. I control any tendency to do so by recognizing that most things that would trigger such thoughts are not under my control so it would be a waste of energy to do so.
Hmmm maybe accept that you’re an over thinker. Accept yourself but try to become better. Often when we overthink because we have much energy. So train as hard as you can.
Think about time. The more you overthink, The more you lose time and it's possible to regret losing some time because time never comes back. If you made a poor decision then make it a lesson.
But of course if you're not in a hurry you can take your time overthinking things. Just take that advice on a crucial situation where you don't get enough time to think
overthinking is actually just uncertainty.
It happens to everyone, its just part of life.
It is temporary.
No, I learned early on, it achieves nothing.
I over think things a lot this said I am usually prepared for when something happens that I already considered
I daydream as a coping mechanism, except when operating heavy machinery or driving or other tasks
Sometimes. The way to control is thinking of all the times it helped and of all the times it didn't.
Talking to a therapist, doesn’t help all the way but like 30% I’ve found
Like 2x a week
Maybe
