Happiness and hatred?

I believe that a big part of having a fulfilling and happy life is in being of service to others. Why are we humans so awful towards eachother at times?

Humans are naturally selfish and soon we learn that the world doesn't like kind people. Money, power, attention, greediness, prejudice, jealousy make people turn against each other. Some people will do anything to reach their goals. They don't care about others. I guess that's why we can be awful to each other.

I agree with most of that. I don't believe we are naturally selfish creatures at all. I honestly think that either it be a wrong path we started down or some other nefarious force we have distracted ourselves while bombarding our senses in every which way in order to teach us the believe that everything we need in order to be happy is external when it's actually internal everything needed for our own happiness is within us

I do agree that most people believe that happiness is external. It took me a while but I finally realized that is internal.

Some are born that way with certain personality disorders and lack empathy. Some are made that way by how they were raised.

We were created in God's image correct? So in being of service to others we are being of service to God aren't we? Pretty sure that's a bigger picture than you'll get to see or understand.
