When I hold the charger Meal thing a certain way it charges but when I let go in stops charging 🤷🏼‍♀️ any ideas? I don't want to get a new phone period. I want this one to work.

Sounds like the charging port has some dirt in it or lint so you need to get that cleaned out somehow with either a small tweezer or airspray, I had that same problem on my phone once and had it cleaned out and everything‘s good but sometimes it’s also the end of the charging cord that is the problem at times

I already have another new phone I could use.
The problem is that I would lose all of the precious messages that my boyfriend sent me through the year's and I am not willing to loose them because sadly he passed away last September and I love rereading them. They are priceless to me.
