It's great to be home again ๐
After my cell phone broke 3 weeks ago I haven't been able to come on GaG, but now I'm back. Are you glad to see me again?

You took 3 weeks to get a new cell phone? Illegals get them for free. You must not rate. 😝
@Daniela1982, yes, I qualified for a free cellphone. In fact the phone that finally broke after 4 year's was a free Obama phone. I didn't want to get a new phone because all of my deceased boyfriends text messages to me were on there and they can't transfer them to a new phone. So I got a new battery and it had to be ordered and I had to wait a week for it. That didn't solve the problem. I took it back to the repair shop and begged the repairman to fix it. He did what he could, but the mother board in it was broken beyond repair. Sadly, I did have to loose all of his text messages to me but I had no choice. Sure, I have a working phone now, but when I tap on my message icon, no more of Patrick's loving messages are there! They are gone forever just like he is.
@daniela1982
I was born in Kansas, but I now identify as a Venezuelan gang member.
I now get amazing deals on Priceline!
Couldn't they just reuse the sim card that had everything stored on it? ๐ฏ
@RowdyYates And here I had you pegged as Eastwood.
@daniela1982
Eastwood doesn't get free stuff.
I was wondering what was going on with you.
@exitseven
Hey YOU! I did put it in a question that I was having trouble with my phone and that is what I use to GaG with. I guess it didn't come through to you. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
If I ever go AWOL again, you can send TonyMetal__86 a DM and he will know what's going on with me. After all he has made me his 2nd Mom and I am honored that he asked me to be his 2nd Mom because I love being a Mom ๐ especially his Mom because he's such a great guy.
Now that I have a new phone I should be back home here where I belong.
It was only 3 weeks? Felt more like a couple months.
@FunkyMonkee
It felt like an eternity to me. Man, what a terrible experience that was. Glad to see you here! ๐
Thanks! Glad you're back!
@GoodGuyBreakingBad
Thank you for your nice welcome back. I missed all of you so much โค๏ธ
@sage2021 You are welcome Sage <3
Don't know who you are (may have seen you a few times), but welcome back to G@G. Always glad to see G@Gers return.
Yes, I'm a huge fan, I've done 6 MyTakes on Roy Orbison. Indeed he did, he was one of the true pioneers of Rock and Roll writing the first rock song to not a chorus. I have multiple CD's of his, and a few months ago purchased my first LP. Will diffidently be purchasing more LP's of his to slowly grow my record collection.
@llorando
Thank you for accepting my follow request. When I checked out your profile just now I saw a Roy Orbison song in your questions. So I listened to it.
I had a huge LP vinyl record album collection ๐ some from 1965-1980's.
Then tragedy struck my life and I lost my apartment and everything in it, including my record collection, my BIC Venturie speaker's and my turn table, well everything else as well.
LP vinyl albums are so expensive I can't believe it - but they do put out the best sound and easy to put on your favorite song just by picking up the bar with the needle on it and placing it on the line.
I'll have to go back and listen to your other songs on your Mistakes ๐
Sorry to hear you lost your LP collection. My record collection is small as I'm just starting out. Yea new LP's can be expensive, but you can find some pretty good deals on vintage vinyl, paid 12ish dollars for my Roy Orbison LP. Part of the reason LP's sound better the CD/digital, comes down to the mastering, LP go through a different mastering process, CD's/digital mastering's are most often compressed to both sound loud and sound "good" on cheap speakers/headphones where LPs are mastered with home Hi-Fi equipment in mind. Another thing that makes vintage LP's sound better, is they were made from the original master, and not digitally restored masters that can include added and altered instruments and re-re-recording of the artist voice, some artist don't sound the same in their later years as they did in their early years. Roy Orbison is an exception to this, his later recordings sound just as good as his early recording. I got a vintage turn table that has a lever you can flip up and down to gently raise and lower the tone arm more precisely and gentle then raising and lowering the tone arm directly. Glad your taking interest in my MyTakes.
@llorando
When I reread my reply to you, my auto correct changed My Takes to Mistakes. I am glad you knew what I meant. Hehehe ๐คญ
You sure do know quite a lot about this. You sound very intelligent and I like that because I love to learn new things, yes, even at my age.
I am curious, besides Roy Orbison, what other artists are you interested in listening to?
I just got a new cell phone and YouTube must have known what music I had on my old broken phone because they made me a very nice play list of my favorite songs and they had it all ready for me without me having to put one together. How ๐ is that?
So, now I just upgraded my high speed Internet today to unlimited because music is such a huge part of me and always has been since I was a young girl. Can't live without my music ๐ถ.
Even at my age, the other night, it was late and here I was listening to the band "Boston" - rock-and-roll forever!!
Yes, I've done a lot of research and have watch quite a bit of videos on the topic. One interesting thing about vinyl that many don't know, is that starting in the early 70s and as you progress to the80s, is that less and less vinyl were actually analog. In the early 70s digital recording machines just started being introduced, and as time went on, more and more artist started recording and mastering digitally then converting to analog for vinyl and tape. So when someone says vinyl sounds better because it's analog? if it's an album from the late 70s or 80's, good chance it was recorded and mastered digitally then converted to analog. I listen to a lot of classic rock with few artist from other genera's, not a big fan of Country music, but do like a few country artist like Johnny Horton and Ray Steven's. Don McLean is another artist I'm a big fan of, been a fan ever since I first heard American Pie on the radio as a kid. Yes, YouTube keeps track of what videos you watch and what music you listen too, I listen to music on both my phone and TV, and get very similar playlist which is nice. Music is such a big part of my life too. Luckily I don't have to worry, the data on my Internet is unlimited, my usage sky rocketed after ditching cable for DirecTV stream.
Here is a YouTube cannel about music and artist you might enjoy.

Welcome back! I use a laptop with a dongle, I don't have a smartphone,,,
Did you fix your phone by cleaning the port or get a new one?
@Likes2drive
I only wish it would have been as simple as a cleaning problem, but it continued down to replacing the battery at $35, then replacing the part where we put the charger into the phone - it was completely stripped. It came back from the repair shop where they sent it a few times and each time they replaced something, something else had to be replaced and sent to another town to a special repairman. The last time it came back they said the motherboard was broken and couldn't be fixed.
So that's why it took so long to finally having to get a new phone. Just ordering the new battery took a week!
I called Metro and the guy on the phone said he could sell me a new phone for $35, but when I went down to the Metro store it turned out to cost me $185, plus all the money I had spent on the repair shop guy.
It was very frustrating from the beginning all the way to the end. Thank goodness I brought a friend with me to the store and when the price jumped from $35 to $185 luckily she had $100 and I brought $100, without her there to help me pay for this phone, it would have taken even longer to buy a new phone.
I was totally emotionally spent by the time the whole thing was finally over and I got a new phone. I was so exhausted from the back and forth emotional rollercoaster they put me on, yes, we can fix it then weeks later no, we can't fix it - I came home and slept for 5 hours!!
I fought so hard to keep my old phone because all of my deceased boyfriends text messages to me were on that phone and they cannot transfer text messages to a new phone - just your contacts.๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ So, I am very sad about that. They are gone forever just like he is.๐
Well, I have an iPhone and when I back it up on my laptop, it even transfers all the text messages too, and all my contacts and everything in the apps. I got the iPhone 13 Pro Max for quite a few years now
wonderful. It is always good when the decent people are on here.
It's rough when you lose that device. Mine wore out in April. I was down for 10 days.
So nice to hear from you again! Hope you are doing well.
Welcome back sage
welcome back...

@exitseven Agree.
Welcome back to the site!
@superchan2011
Thank you for the warm welcome back! Missed you guy's ๐
You're very welcome๐
I have been away for over 2 weeks myself.
I missed you!
@IslaTheWitch
I think it's better too if I am here not only for the website but for myself as well.
I don't have any family except for my son who I love very much but has learning disabilities, which I still love him very much even though he cannot carry on a normal conversation with me. I just didn't want to exclude him as my family because people on here know that I have a son. But other than him, no family except for my family here on GaG. So I am very thankful for people such as yourself that make me feel like family. Thank you for being here for me and all of the other people that you bring your wisdom to.
I appreciate your presence here, Sage... you are wise, and you have many interesting perspectives... it's great to have you here :)
Very happy to see you back.
Welcome back!
Welcome back.
@ManOnFire
Thank you ๐ it's great to be back again!!
WHO ARE YOU?
@Jmmmfi4
Now, how can I possibly explain to you who I am? I'll try though because you've asked me this before.
I am just another regular person on this website. I have been on here for 3-1/2 year's now. Most people on here like my opinion and my questions.
Why don't you follow me and find out for yourself who I am okay ๐ ๐
