To me a simp is a man who doesn’t embrace his masculinity and makes himself smaller to appease others. Part of why we like men is because they are masculine. Be who you are. I like masculine men, so I could never be with someone who changes who they are to be more submissive or effeminate to try to appease me. That would make me like him less. Some women like the opposite. So to give a simple answer to your question, what makes a guy a simp is being submissive and a pussy. And I don’t need a pussy. I already have a pussy, I don’t need another one.

Lol I just answered a question about the undefined definition of this term earlier this day.

I can't use this term for anything really because of how it is tainted already by manosphere. And far-right since the two overlap frequently. So I'd rather not give credit nor contribution to these areas. Though, technically, it is possible to repurpose a term to hijack it from its original source. But then it's a long shot and a collective one in order to relocate meaning.

For a wider reflection upon the actual idea behind this word, it's reasonable enough to say that any person can go into idolatry about anything. That is fanaticism. There are individual reasons for this obsession to happen, and there are cultures enforcing fanaticism about any topic.

Id say there's still a transactional element there where the guy ‘simp’ wants the attention and maybe the praise from her. So they do care about whatever outcome they receive in doing said nice thing. Id say that’s different from someone who does a nice thing and genuinely doesn’t give a shit about the outcome.
