How can someone with autism properly take care of a husky?

If they struggle to pick up on ques, so usually you have to be verbal and tell the person what the need is otherwise they will never know but obviously it doesn’t work like that with dogs so what is the workaround to this cause the dog wines and I can’t interpret the meaning.

Often times neurodivergent are more in tuned with the needs of an animal and can pick up on their patterns and cues easily. From experience they’re also more accommodating to their energies and are huge advocates for not putting their dogs into situations they themselves would be uncomfortable in. That said I wouldn’t trust many neurotypical with a husky let alone a neurodivergent unless they are familiar with the breed, have done their research and their lifestyle matches up. People often get dogs they think are cool looking and portrayed by the media without any real research or thought behind if the dog will be a good fit for their lifestyle.

if you can't interpret the meanings, then don't have the dog. rather simple really.

It might be a good idea to memorize the physical behaviors that the animal does when it needs different things. Maybe make some flashcards with the various "tells" so that you develop a little mental checklist of things to look out for?

That being said, it is entirely possible that owning a dog might simply not be a good idea for the autistic person. Another user wrote that here, and I think that she's bringing up a good point.
