This question is for you personally, when did you figure out that you matured?

Tell me your character development, what happened or what didn't happen that made you realize you have matured.

Am I fully matured? Nope. Not sure. Bit I know all through my 20's I wasn't. Despite getting married and moving out of home and having a baby. In my mind and thinking I always felt same as my 17-19 year old self.

At 32 I got into a bad bad relationship. It was torture and hell. And I had two young children. I suffered and felt I aged ten years in the 3 years I was with my abusive boyfriend. When I finally got free of him that's when I felt more mature. Because I had to deal with everything alone. The bills, running a house, raising my children. My abusive boyfriend had cut me off from friends and family.

I spent 8 years healing and building myself.

At age 40 I felt like the best me I've ever been. Fitter, slimmer, healthier, stronger. I think that was my peak. And yes finally feeling an adult. Mature in the sense of wisdom and peace.

Now.. hmm. I feel young at heart and I don't care of I act childish. I want to be fun and free. My kids are older. I feel more accepting of myself and who I am than ever before. Yet also aware I am still growing and learning.

If mature means "done" growing as a person and living routinely and always responsibly then mature is overrated lol

Exactly. Never stop trying to be a better person. I'm far from perfect. But I'm wiser, more confident and can communicate my feelings or opinions better than when I was married.
If I was upset I'd do the silent treatment.
Now I rather speak up calmly about a problem or how I feel and listen to the other person and see if we can come to an agreement on how to proceed.
Is this maturity? Maybe.

That's definitely a part of maturity, maturity comes as a package it comes with all sorts of things, if you were right and you know it but someone else tells you otherwise you don't argue, also comes with leadership. Over all putting what is right first over emotions is a good way to put it and on top of that I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping a young heart, just not a young mindset, having to know when to differentiate is also crucial. I think we can agree.

I feel like I'm a work in process striving to get better everyday, so not a definitive answer to your question but I am more mature at 27 than when I was 19.
