It's not a problem, per se. It's just an indication of that person's mental health and level of maturity.

Personally, I support it. Because when a woman says she wants to be infertile, it's generally an indication of her political views and attitudes toward men, and women like that should not be passing on their genes anyway.

These women are saying they don't want to have anything to do with men and don't want to have sex with men or procreate. Well teenager’s hormone levels are ridiculously high due to puberty. More often than not this leads to them making poor decisions that they could later regret.

In short they sometimes think irrationally.

With adults I would say the point you made would make more sense, take for instance a couple that already have children and don’t plan/want more. So the man or woman will undergo surgery to prevent them having more children with their spouse/significant other.
