Do you get annoyed at people for listening to music without headphones on public transport?

Question

I get the train to work and it's about a 45 minute ride there and back.

I always bring my headphones.

I don't know why some people can't be bothered to buy a pair of headphones like most people.

I find it rude,. especially when they talk on their mobile for the whole ride.

The other day I could hear a lady having a conversation over the music in my headphones.

I asked her to put her headphones on, she said she doesn't have any and I replied, well you should get some.

I don't understand how they don't realize it annoys other people.

Do you find this annoying?

Well take in consideration would you feel the same way with two people having a conversation face to face? You would hear both of them speaking, besides if she had headphones you would still hear one voice.

For me, It bothers me when its anything but a phone call. I take that back because some people are painful to listen to, but I try to still respectfully not let it get to me.

One time, when I was hung over like hell, on the bus, going to get my car out of the impound after being in there for 30 days thanks to my ex (we werent dating when this happened), this lady proceeded to shout about her doctor visit to someone…. Talk about how she didn't have a pap in the last 20 years, and all sorts of other medical info I did not need to hear about…. I was ready to throw up by the time I got to where I needed to…

Yes, that explains one of my  fantasies : I imagine a small squad, firing up at least 4 different musical genres on 4 different phones, maximum volume. Then they all sit or stand around the person listening to music without headphones, all of them nodding at the rhythm. That would be amazing.

not really... I use noise-cancelling headphones, so I'm not even aware someone listens to loud music...

but I assume it could be annoying if you don't have or can't use headphones, and you are doomed to listen to other people's conversations, noises made by the vehicle, and loud music...

I don't care to listen to the ticking and tacking noise of whatever or video someone is playing. I also don't enjoy their conversations. I was taught to be quiet when someone is on the phone, so now I feel like I'm eavesdropping when someone is on their phone right next to me.

The only 2 acceptable ways of behaving on a train are:

1. Sit in silence, no head phones, contemplating how your life has lead you to this point.

2. Be that group of drunk people at the back, in a well manored charming way.

In commie Britain, they're trying to make it more difficult to drive everywhere. I still drive into the city. Fuck 'em. When I get the tram it often kicks off, twice on one tram ride once. I'll always drive.

Yes that is very annoying, if you don't have headphones, then don't listen to music, some people when they are on public transportation, like to take that time and get a little rest with out being distracted, and having to listen to someone's music is distracting.

The talking doesn't bother me too much as long as it's not loud or yelling. Music is not allowed on buses without headphones but, SOMETIMES, I'll get on a bus and the DRIVER has a radio playing!! However, for the most part, it's quiet and can almost only be heard in her/his "cubical". But, still he/she SHOULDN'T have it on at all!!

Who cares. Not everyone uses their phones at work🙈 surprise 😮
Before and after work might be their only time away from the kids and they wanna catch up with a Friend, sort out an appointment or have a phone meeting. Turn up your head phones or use the bike lane

the new Apple Watch plays music out loud and they actually advertise that as a selling point. i can't think of where i'd ever use that without air pods

Well, hearing someone talk on the phone is no more annoying than hearing them talk to the person next to them. But I do prefer it when people text on the train.
