Did your grandmother and/or grandfather pass away before you were born? Why?

My maternal grandmother died in a house fire before I was born. She burned to death.
And my paternal grandfather passed away while doing a job in another country. He was in a truck with two other men going home after work and my grandfather was sitting in the middle seat of the truck when it struck a tree and killed him.

From what I'm told, dad's dad died the Christmas before I was born. Most of my young life, I was told that he died the Christmas AFTER I was born and I was the only one of the kids in my family that ever saw him. He had a heart attack.
His wife, Daisy, died 17 years later at 94.
Mom's dad died, again, heart attack, in the mid to late `80's. Probably in his late 70's to early 80's.
His wife died Dec. 23, 1999. She just turned 89 almost 2 months before. I'm not sure what killed her. I recall she was on the front porch, slipped & fell on the icy porch and her youngest daughter, who lived about 4 miles from here, refused to come help her because she didn't want her Christmas ruined. The oldest local daughter came over from about 40 miles away to help her.

My mom's dad was murdered when she was 14. She had me at 22. Dad's mom passed when I was 6.

3 of my grandparents are still alive. My mom's bio dad died when she was a baby. Not a sad story tho. He was a cheater and had a whole family but was getting with my grandpa. Crazy huge age difference. She was 17 and he 45. Honestly just disgusting so were glad he died early

I never knew my grandmother (mother of my father), as she passed away 4 years before I was born, due to a long-lasting illness there was no real cure for.

Luckily, I got to know the other 3.

All of my grandparents both maternal ang paternal passed away before I was born because my mother had trouble getting pregnant and had me late in her life.

I think that because 2 of my grandparents died before I was born that I really missed out because I would have loved to know them. My paternal grandfather lived on the east coast and I never met him either. So I just knew one grandparent.
It also made my family very small and I am all alone now.
It really makes me sad to be honest. I always wondered what my Dad's mom would have been like if she hadn't been burned alive in the house fire🔥. She had five children. It's so very 😢

My paternal grandmother and maternal grandfather both passed before I was born. Like my parents, they were older when their children were born, so they were in their 80's. My other two passed before I entered kindergarten.

My mother never knew who her biological father was. Her mother died when I was too young to remember her. My fraternal grandfather also died when I was too young to remember him. My fraternal grandmother lived several years to be one hundred!

On my dad side yeah. I’m not sure how they died. Never asked. I knew my grandparents from my maternal side though. My granddad died of colon cancer when I was in my late teens. My grandma is still alive but we aren’t close.

Yes. He suddenly collapsed in his early 50s. I heard he was a great man.

No they were all still alive. 2 are still alive now, 2 died 4-5 years ago.

My paternal grandfather that I am named after died the year vefore I was born. I never met him.
