Do you think marriage is stupid?

I might get married but it I do think it’s stupid. It’s more an expectation in my culture.
It’s a piece of paper. It’s a celebration for a woman as she gets financial incentives, security and favour particularly in breakdown of relationship.

I don’t think men get any security or any perks to getting married, can you name any? I view marriage as a liability like a car.

Arranged marriages used to work and be so successful yet modern love marriage crumble like anything.

Depends on WHY someone got married it it was because of sex, because you married the first person you knocked up/got knocked up by, if it’s because of money, material things, etc. Then yes it’s stupid and probably will end in disaster unless you do some serious rectifying and it has to be done by BOTH persons you cannot force someone to do that either.

If a marriage is built on a strong bond, genuine love, etc then that’s what a marriage should be. Those marriages are rare and have been rare for a long time. Probably longer then most people would imagine

because if a woman becomes disillusioned for any reason she has the weight of the court on her side, and women know this, in fact some women bank on it (literally) divorce is totally unfair for a man. he can loose almost everything while she gains an income and the freedom to screw around and possibly do it all over again with someone else.

How do you know that many people? My dad’s worth about £8.5M. But in the UK that is extremely rare. That’s like a couple in a thousand households. I know a lot of these people because I’m from that class. Even 7 figure income I only know my neighbour and the neighbour after that that makes that much money.

Luck honestly, I had a job in a decent restaurant at 16 and met a few millionaires there, school friends whose parents were millionaires, went college with my friend in exotic rentals, my late antique dealer was worth £70M and just happened to be local, my other local antique dealer is on the Antiques Roadshow I suppose the more loose connection is a family friend and her friend's father is a film producer who I've given friendly advice to

Marriage is not right for everyone. If you see Marriage as a financial burden, don't get married. I happen to love being married to my wife.
