I've never seen this version of this wonderful song before. I thought I'd share it with you and take you down Memory Lane.
I learned that this song was inspired by the book of Revelation in the Bible and every member of the band became Christians around the time they made this song.

  I am so happy that you enjoyed these songs and to see them actually playing them in person instead of a still picture on a video we were able to enjoy seeing them playing some of our favorite songs from the summer of LOVE
  1969.
  I was living in San Francisco California during the hippie era and the 70's as well. I was right in the middle of all of it! The great concerts in the Park with
  Jefferson Airplane and many more. I saw Santana at the Fillmore West concert hall when I was 15.
  San Francisco was the best place to be in those days. This is just for you to enjoy 😊

  My sister's boyfriend bought us both tickets to Woodstock. But my mother said that I couldn't go because I was too young! So I missed it! 😏 I had hair down to my shoulders. 😀

  Too bad that you missed Woodstock. I still watch the video of the drummer for Santana playing his 4 minute drum 🥁 solo. I had a big crush on him (Mike Shrieve) when I was 15 and saw them in person at the Fillmore West in San Francisco.

  😂 yes saw the video. I remember the song well. It's very fitting for San Francisco. I was in northeast coast kid. Later in my teens I must have listened to the Woodstock album about 50,000 times with a friend of mine. Liked every song on it and really hated that I didn't get to go. The movie was fantastic too I also remember the drummer and the performance you are talking about.

In the series "Breaking Bad" they played the song. A chemistry teacher, Walter White" found out he had cancer. He was worried about setting up his family financially. His brother-in-law was a DEA agent and too him for a ride-along. Walter couldn't believe how much money there was in meth.
With his chemistry background, it didn't take him long to take over the market in Albuquerque. His special formula made his crystal turn blue. Pretty soon he was taking over Mexico.

I remember that song being played at dances when I was 15. Back then, psychedelic light show were popular at dances.
It was a popular song. I thought it was about love and flower power. I didn't get any religious overtones.

  When I used to go to concerts at the Fillmore West in San Francisco when I was 15, they had a section for dancing and strobe lights were so cool 😎 because I didn't know how to dance yet but the strobe lights made me look like I was a great dancer hehe..

Isn't that song still played at parties even today? like I'm also a bit past that wild party age but just a few years ago when I still did party a bunch, that song came up a lot.

  For a lot of people who were around in 1969 this song was released during that summer and it played all summer long. We all loved it!
  The summer of '69 was remembered as "The Summer of Love". Times were great back then and so was the music.
  
  Other members who gave their opinion here remembered members of their family playing this song when they were young and still remember it.
  
  It's a classic song that will never die.

  In the Bible in the book of Revelation chapter 19 something is said about crystal. I looked it up on the internet and read about it but now I can't seem to remember exactly how it came about other than what I just wrote.
