HOLY SHIT! I realized I hardly remember any names from high school. Is this normal?

I am 30. I am trying to remember names to see where my peers have ended up in life. My hometown has changed so drastically over the years, it is hardly recognizable. I don't run into familiar faces anymore.

I can hardly remember names from high school or earlier. I remember a few former friend's names and crushes I had. That is it. At the same time, I wasn't as sociable as a kid and was rather sheltered anyways.

For us born in the 1990s, tech has been amazing in its constant change however - I think even I get "enough info daily" nowadays

I suppose it depends on how large your class was. I had a graduating class of 700, so there is no way I even knew, let alone remember, most of them except for friends or people I went through all the years of high school, junior high, and elementary school.

I moved directly in the middle of high school. My underclassman years I attended a school with 4000 kids. My upperclassmen years were at a different school that was large but not nearly as large as the previous school. I cannot recall many names.

Why does this even matter to you anyways? Wouldn’t you just wanna wrap up the past and move on with your life?

It is because I feel stagnant in my career and where I reside. I am trying to see how successful everyone else is and if they have moved away.

Well, I am 32, can't remember %90 of the names from elementary school, but high school? Come on!

Yeah I've been to a reunion recently and out of 40-50 attendees I could only name 7 without being prompted but that could just be the drink
