Not anymore and it's my fault. To be honest, I chose to disconnect with them few years ago as the older I got, the more awkward I'd feel to hangout and talk to them... simply because I couldn't relate to them anymore no matter how hard I tried. They got married very early. Some in late teens, other in early 20s. They had kids. They would often talk about married life, in laws, children and stuff. While I was experiencing different things, what it's like to be away from my family, live independently. Focus on career, travel, and other things. As much as I loved them, I just felt at some point I'm pretending to get them and trying too hard to relate. They were very happy with my company, but I just couldn't anymore.

No, not from my private High School. But the public High School I also had friends and I still chat with some. One reached out a few years ago. He lived in LA for a longtime in the rock and roll scene. He knew Ozzy from my understanding. He died of cancer recently which is the reason I think he reached out to reconnect as he started to face that challenge.

Another friend was sailing all over the Atlantic and Covid got him stuck on one of the islands in the Caribbean. He made a new life there and got married not too long ago to an island girl.

Every great once in a while, I bump into a couple. One was also in my band so, if he's in town, we get together for an afternoon.

A few… A good friend’s wife hates me (for whatever reason), so he’s pretty much dropped me as a friend - we send Christmas cards, but that’s about it. She’s the gatekeeper. He’s not on social media (that I know of… or he’s defriended me - wife, too).


I went to high school with a guy who worked at the local theater. We were both huge into the same stuff… and then ended up going to the same college, and were in sort of the same department, and year, so we hung out a lot. I see him now through social media - that’s about it.


Some that I probably would have spent more time with after high school and college unfortunately passed away too early. One or two made bad decisions about who they thought their real friends were, and I got dropped (in spite of being true to them, but… oh well, you live and you learn).


I do have two kids I grew up with that were from the old neighborhood. The two brothers were around me in age, so we both did the same schools (I think 1st-12th anyway.) I don’t see them much, but I’m friendly with their aunt, so I get lots of pictures and updates. I just sent the older brother a message. We mostly are social media friends. They grew up near my Aunt (who lived nearby) and helped her out when that elevator didn’t always reach the top, so there’s a lot of gratefulness for looking out for her when they didn’t have to.

I have two that I keep in touch with. They're actually coming up for my wedding! That made me so happy.

I still have one that I email occasionally. These days, we live at opposite ends of the world.

Nope, I did for a couple years when I was enrolled in community college, but after I went away I didn't and most of them weren't really my friends anyway.

Not really. I'm friends with some people on social media and talk sometimes. A lot of people I talk to are from middle school, high school, and from my old neighborhood
