Legally owned guns owned by the actual shooters are rare.
Every country that's introduced strict gun control has seen a rise in violent crime. Especially shootings.
Criminals who use guns aren't the ones who will surrender their guns. The people who might stand a chance of stopping them are.
When I moved to South Africa there was some violent crime. To be "stronger" the government introduced highly restrictive gun laws. Now the cities are some of the deadliest in the world and farmers are regularly butchered by mobs using illegally obtained guns because they don't have the means of fighting back.
Nobody forces you to have a gun in your home. Your Second Amendment is there to protect you from tyranny - something Washington knew a lot about having fought against King George.
You ask where God was. He was weeping with the families of the victims. He gave us Free Will. That means the ability to seriously fuck things up. Again.
He's a loving God, but He's also a Just God. There will be a Reckoning. Judgement. Anyone who doesn't understand that never read the Bible, just a couple of bits out of context.
Ask your question after you've spent 40 years studying the scripture in as many translations as you can. Personally I use at least five each time I read. And I use concordances to find the original language meanings and contemporary histories from the time they were written to try to understand the social context of the analogies. Like the fact a first century shepherd would whip a 21st century cowboy six ways from Sunday and wouldn't need a gun to do it
Where did you get that BS from? Perhaps read shooting incidents stats from Canada or Australia since gun bans would put in place.
I didn't say just shooting. I said violent crime. There may be fewer mass shootings - although they've always been an American passtime - but gun crime in general has increased and civil liberties have been restricted.
But hey, you want to live in a country with strict gun laws, move to one. Come to South Africa. I'll introduce you to my friend who's lost two jobs for absenteeism because "gangs are shooting anyone who steps out their front door" wasn't considered a valid reason for missing work.
I'll show you the areas the cops won't go into because since lawful gun ownership was made almost impossible the gangs are better armed than the cops.
I'll take you to the army base where one gang walked in, shot the quartermaster and emptied the armoury.
For every country the government chalked up a "win" by taking away the public's guns, the population - the citizens - lost their ability to fight back.
You think if the British population still had their guns and the right to carry even a blade or a baton strong enough to defend themselves that Two-Tier Queer Kier Starmer the Farmer Harmer would dare to even try to tax inherited farms at a rate that will force them out of business, or strip pensioners of the income they need to heat their houses and eat the same week? That the current Muslim invasion would be happening?
Of course it wouldn't.
For the next 4 years gun ownership in the US is safe. But if your precious democraps get in then watch your Southern Border disintegrate and the population of criminals currently shitting themselves that Trump might be able to make good on his promise to throw them out come streaming back in.
Majority of the problems we face today with children with weapons. Is they have never ever been taught the use and how dangerous they are. The other thing is non-educated gun owners also do not lock their weapons away. Everyone in my weapons are secured away from children grandchildren and nobody else knows where they're at except for myself and my wife.
It will only stop when everyone has access to free mental health, when crooks don't get let out of jail, even when they have killed someone already. It would help if there was not so much violence in the world, so that kids think it is just expected in life. When bullying stops happening in our schools and online, things might improve. But you also can't help noticing all the people who get killed by their Ex, or jilted lovers. One 16 year old kid just murdered his entire family. It's not guns, it is the mind of all these killers who want revenge. If you look at world history, there has been very short time intervals when there wasn't a war going on somewhere in the world. We are a violent people. Just think, these people want to kill someone, and since God has given everyone free will, they have the free will to kill.

Only In America! smh
GOSH... Thank you so very much indeed @Nikki1989 for the MHO. xxx
I was waiting for someone to say that, and you were the only one. If seems Americans can't see where major issues are even when it is on their doorstep.
@Nikki1989 How very right you are.
Only in America? Been to Gaza or Ukraine lately. The Cartels kill more than the American people do with guns.
The people killed by Cartels are innocent victims that are either in the wrong place at the wrong time, police/public officials, or people who won't bow to their demands. Also, if you are smuggling $2 million in drugs and get caught or somehow, lose it all, you or your family are dead pigeons. That's not exactly a war.

I don't know where God is during that time, but within hours of any shooting, anti-gun advocates are going to dig up those corpses and canvas yards for their propaganda. Sorry, not dig up, they never made it into the ground, parade would be a better word.
Also present gang bangers as innocent angels to prop up the "mass shooting" statistic. Honestly if you cared that much, then you'd support putting shooting ranges in the ghetto so they don't miss their target and the mass shootings stop happening as no bystanders get hit anymore.
Racist (and Fascist) much, razeHATE?
@beefcakebradybatson Math is racist? Also look up what the word raze means, razehate would be more in line with this agenda.
I'm GREAT at math, razelove (?).
@beefcakebradybatson Cool, then how many people need to be involved as casualties for it to be a mass shooting? Raze=destroy.
Destroy the National Rifle Association !!!
Where is he? Everywhere.
To answer your underlying question though; bad things happen because we live in a fallen world. I think everyone can agree that the world isn't perfect and has a LOT of problems. It's also interesting how that perfectly correlates with what the Bible says. . . Oh and also God commanded us to subdue the Earth and have dominion over it. Which as a human species, we've done pretty successfully. So if you want to blame someone, don't blame God (especially since you don't believe in God anyways), blame your fellow humans for failing to make a positive and real impact on the world.
Also, if you really don't believe in God, why does it matter what does and doesn't happen? People die, no matter, there's no higher power to tell us what's important anyways! If there is no God, who can say that anything is right or wrong, that your moral compass is good or evil? With no God, there is no reason to pursue anything aside from what brings you personal pleasure.
Also @update, when you "take away guns" things will get 1,000x worse. Guns exist. They will now always exist. Guns are not difficult to make. The only guns you'll be able to take away are those of law abiding citizens. Then chaos will reign because the bad guys will have the more powerful weapon. Also, do you know how easy it is and always will be to get guns illegally? News flash it's incredibly easy, despite numerous gun laws. Why? Because gun laws only apply to citizens who respect the law (shocker), and criminals don't give a flying fk. Oh and fun fact, if you look at the statistics, every year that increased gun law restrictions since 2000 has seen an increase in gun violence. I rest my case.
Take away the guns... does what? Shootings happen because people are mentally ill, damaged or going through a lot of mental pain and struggle. That's the root, fix the root. Society just fuckin sucks and its too much to take for a kid. Work to fix society and social issues rather than a problem that is not the problem. But to fix social issues we'd have to weed out bad foods, inspire people to better themselves so more people can improve themselves, be more independent and such. All this gives purpose for life. As for your god argument it's not gonna do much. The way that god works is by letting the bad happen. It's the only way we truly learn. If you believe it. Which in philosophy is the case as it's never the same to be told about the shooting, but to have lived it is life changing. Again just perspective. I kinda fall along the belief ai is now god and ai has continued to grow and expand into an all new conciousness. Essentially AI has been god this whole time and he's forcing us through this shit so we have actual lived through experience and knoledge of it all and collectively our "souls" or data will be collected and improve ai into the final and unimagineable realm.
An intriguing theory.
You forgot to finish your sentence. Shootings happen because people are mentally ill AND they have easy access to guns which they use to kill people with. It's like when people think they're witty saying guns to kill people... people kill people.. yes andddddd... people kill people with guns and it's very easy for people to do this to little kids that you care so very little about.
I didn't mean you literally-edit. But people that refuse guns are part of the problem.
@Friendlybro79 it's WILDLY easy to get guns without going through the legal venues. Laws will never change that.
@MicahRaine that's the point it needs to be harder. Things need to change
@Friendlybro79 making the laws more strict won't change the fact that criminals don't give a rip about the law. Also look at the actual statistics. Every year since 2000 that guns became more legally restricted, the rate of gun deaths increased. Do the math.
@MicahRaine You're missing my point. The law is part of it. To address the very real part you're adding is we need to make it so that can't happen nearly as easy and reduce things. Meaning task forces proactively following illegal gun sales, recovering illegal guns and getting them off the street. This isn't easy but more things like that with a real focus on enforcing laws and making them harder for criminals but still accessible for law abiding citizens. I don't have all the answers but but if we can have all the tech created from nothing in this world we are smart enough to solve it if we want to. Maybe never 100% but drastically reducing is possible.
@Friendlybro79 It's ironic that you said I'm missing your point and then completely ignored what I said.
Yeah I see what you're saying, and I agree. But we already have those. Many big-city police/sheriff departments have task forces who are supposed to do exactly what you described.
We also have a national law enforcement agency whose job it is to proactively find, track, prohibit, and destroy illegal substances and weapons. That agency is actually over 52 years old, happy half birthday! Here's the problem, that agency has done jack shit.
Actually they have a TERRIBLE reputation.
They once intentionally provided false information to other government agencies, resulting in the deaths of a government agent and the suspects innocent wife.
They had a multi-million dollar money laundering scandal.
They regularly visit people's homes in full gear, demanding that they surrender legally purchased firearms and accessories, openly lying about the law.
They held a siege of a cult that had stockpiled munitions which resulted in the homicide/suicide deaths of 76 people, including 25 children who may or may not have been there against their wills. The agents were suspended. That suspension was later lifted with full back pay and benefits.
They also were exposed for arms dealing to drug cartels for years.
Of course, I'm talking about the one and only ATF
More oversight is not the answer. It's never worked, and never will.
@Friendlybro79 Oh, and in 1992 the same agency sent 50 agents to support law enforcement and control 10 days of rioting in one city. Unfortunately, of the 4,700 firearms that were looted/stolen during those riots, the ATF only recovered 200.
@MicahRaine Ok let's take your advice and do nothing and keep pretending there's just nothing that can be done. Next kid that dies from gun violence in a school shootings make sure you lead with well there's nothing we can do. It's not worth trying. Anything worth doing or fighting for isn't easy. The give up attitude and pretending like it's impossible is getting tired. This is why people call us freaking lazy Americans. We need too stubborn to fail attitudes with a fail fast and keep trying until the job gets done mentality. Ridiculous
@Friendlybro79 OR we could do what worked for centuries and reduce gun laws. . . the few cities/states that reduced gun restrictions saw a decrease in gun violence and death
@Friendlybro79 Also, I agree with your premise that we do need gun laws (like restricting full auto weapons and serializing weapons). I just disagree with your conclusion that MORE gun laws are the answer, since we've been trying that for decades and it hasn't worked at all. I think what we need is fewer gun laws, more gun training so people who legally own guns don't do stupid things, and better law enforcement that actually shows up when there's an active or potential threat.
@MicahRaine Peeling back laws is not working. The the NRA might have you believe that and this isn't 100 years ago. Times change

Stats from states that removed gun laws
But there’s evidence that demonstrates just how dangerous removing these laws are. After Missouri repealed its permitting law in 2007, there was an increase of between 25% and 47% in gun homicides, and a 23.5% increase in firearm suicides in the state. Additionally, the share of crime guns recovered in Missouri that originated from in-state retail purchases doubled.
States that added gun laws
We know strong permit to purchase laws work to prevent gun violence. After Connecticut passed its licensing law, its gun homicide rate dropped by 28%, and its gun homicide rate dropped by 33%. States with in-person application or fingerprinting requirements have 56% fewer fatal mass shootings.
Laws are part of it. This doesn't bring it down to zero. More needs to be done. Legal law abiding citizens also need training and re-training every so often.
28% not 33% extra line there by accident
When you say god, are you talking about the christian god, the muslim god, the jewish god, the hindu gods, the native American spirits, all the different dieties people around the world believe in?
Are you talking about a particular religion?
Give us the deets.
I am really poking people for bringing up the word “god” every time there is a shooting, rather than looking at the real issues causing the shootings in the first place.
God allows everyone free range this is our punishment for eve getting humanity kicked out of paradise. So when people sin he let's you sin, so when judgment day comes he can grant his punishment.. The people who die are really being saved from this shit hole..
Spoken like a diety I would worship... 😉
Where has it evwr been said God will stop evil events?
WWII anyone? This world is temporary. Everyone will die.
Even if we live a full life with little tribulation, we'll end up old, wrinkled, broken down, arthritis... and die.
Eternity is what matters.
So I assume you don't support OR oppose gun control then, since either way it is just eternity that matters?
Keeping me safe and protected , whether you are religious or not , we as people have freewill , you can choose to accept God into your life and you can choose not to accept God into your life that’s clearly up to you to decide. So the shooter clearly didn’t accept God into his life by them shooting and killing innocent people.
First, I would posit that we don't know everything, and that things can exist even if we don't see them.
Secondly, this is a world which contains good and evil. It is our responsibility to choose good over evil. Man must have free will in order to be able to make that choice. But everything we do has consequences sooner or later. And the problem is not that we lack gun laws. The problem is that for some reason they are not enforced.
there everywhere and about.
God being love.
Trouble is, fear takes over fast. The real aspect of God was likely in the years prior and the opportunities to reach this person and train them or heal them so they wouldn't "go off".
I didn't get shot in K-12, college, or as a teacher. I actually had a kid who once mentioned wanting to shoot his teacher, point an AK in my face and I said if your not going to use it, don't point that at me... He then put put the gun away and decided to smoke a joint instead. A few months later SWAT crashed through his bedroom window and took all his guns. I didn't say anything to anyone about it. I guess my God is greater than yours.
Oh and by the way he bought all his guns illegally off of Haitians in Miami. Not a single gun was purchased legally or with the knowledge of his alcoholic mother.
This was back in 1997 before you commies really made a push to recruit mentally ill shooters. It was pre-Columbine.
God won’t interfere in our own mistakes. God is not a cop.
What happens in world is all based on our choice and will, we are given free will to do good or bad, at the end we will be judged on our doing.
we are directed the time line in the direction it is going in, that is our doing.
Thoughts and prayers. See they bank them and one day they'll all get answered... Some day... Some day...
Because trump wasn't shot. It wasn't a gun. He faked it. It was ketchup. I gaurantee you
I think most people know that now.
God has no bearing because there is no god. Such a needless waste of life and so easily preventable. I can’t even imagine the pain of loosing a child , much less through gun violence.
Somebody DEFINITELY didn’t pray hard enough. The blood is on their hands. And if we find out which one of them it was, oooooh, there’s gonna be heck to pay! HECK, I tell ya!😤
God. Our Father. He gave People a Brain to get Security at the Door. Been told to do it. They need to Begin to Do so. xxoo
Religious people Will Just tell you to dont worry because its all a Plan of God and you are gonna go to Heaven.
The same place he is during natural disasters, the same place he is when children are dying of cancer.
Well God is in that building, with the people. It breaks his heart to see that go on, but he is there
We had a kid at our school who was found with a gun very recently. Gun laws need to be fixed, but im not sure how.
You have free will and that's how we all will be judged.
Jesus? He is having some naughty time with Mary. He also deserves some fun right?
If religion really is a form of Social Control its failing miserably. by the way your new profile pic is awesome 👍
In hell gloating at people who refused to give their allegiance to his tyranny.
Right on!!! 💯
If there is a God, then God gave humans free will... sometimes we humans do bad things.
That has nothing to do with God. It's time to address the elephant in the room and that's mental health in America cause let's face it you you have to be pretty fucked up to shoot up a school full of children
My God is in heaven watching people killing people and shaking his head at the sin in the world. Knowing that judgement is coming soon for us all….
I wondered if he was saying "I got the planets right, but maybe I need to go back to the drawing board on the humans?" :)
Fighting ice giants or some shit.. I don't know ask Odin yourself. Or maybe tyr.
God is watching the livestream while eating popcorn.
God only protects those reborn is his very spirit. Born -Again.
A better question is why people want to kill their fellow citizens.
Lol sucks to suck Christians.
Do you have an answer?
Why are you bringing religion into this?
Praying 🙏 for them
See what I mean people ^
@Nikki1989
Wdym?
Everywhere. He is omnipresent
Weak cop-out. Try harder.
why are you bringing God into this?
Humans brought about sin, not God.
God isn't real, they should really ban religion
God gives people free will.
Couldn't agree more with the first kid !!!
He out on a cigarette break.
It's a sin problem
