Do people hate the educated?

Soft targets. They nearly always pick somewhere that there are a lot of crowded unarmed people they can murder before being stopped. More than anything they seem inspired by previous mass killers. I think this mass shooter wasn't so good with a gun and picked the wrong college.
That Brevnik guy in Norway he shot 77 on that Island, killed 8 with a car bomb and wounded over 300 people. The Las Vegas shooter at a country music festival killed 61 people, with 867 wounded (413+ by gunfire or shrapnel). The Nice attacker killed 87 people with a lorry, injured 319. Shows what is possible.
Fortunately he didn't make nail bombs or use a flamethrower. I think that if one of these guys starts using a flamethrower others will follow because they are so easy to build. I think eventually there will be the perfect storm of a mass attack by an individual or individuals that plan an attack out well and will kill a lot of people possibly using guns but also possibly large vehicles, bombs, sarin gas in the subway, grenades, shooting an airliner down, derailing a train, releasing small pox something real bad. Like can you imagine if the Las Vegas shooter had got his hands on an mg42 firing into a packed crowd with a weapon that killed 2000 us troops on D-day.
They are soft targets, with many targets of opportunity, and entries and exits. University/school police are usually not trained up to deal with mass shootings as the person doing the shooting usually knows the campus as well if not better than the police, and it would not matter if all handguns and 'AR 15' style rifles were banned as a.22LR can be just as lethal, if someone wants to go on a killing spree the will, if they cannot gain access to a firearm the will use some thing else, a knife, hammer, screwdriver, if you check FBI stats you'll find more people killed with the last three than all firearms deaths, and the vast majority of those deaths are suicides.
They are going for area's with a chance of a large concentrated groups of people. It could be schools, or stores... but classrooms are a great way to trap people. Many classrooms have one way in and one way out. If a shooter is in the hallway, the choices are take your chances running by them or hunkering down and waiting for them to come to your room.
This is why having people armed in a room is a good idea, IF they get that point. It is not a good idea for armed people to go hunting down a shooter, as that would interfere with police knowing who is the actual shooter.
If guns were outlawed, these same people would simply pull a Nice France type attack, find a truck or car and a long line on say Black Friday or a movie theater and run over dozens of people. They will find a way.
I guess they should start arming the teachers and students so they can defend themselves instead of being lambs at a slaughter.

There may be lot of reasons imaginable, but one I'm sure plays an important part, is very bad experiences at school. Keep in mind it's nearly always the same persons to be bullied more than their turn, and later in life, when things go wrong, and a fragile psychology playing a part, those people being pushed mentally against the wall, will clearly be prone to take revenge before often killing themselves. Just saying.
because schools foster an environment in which people go crazy. I don't know if you know dr. k. he's a Harvard psychatrist who made a youtube channel where he's dealing with more and less prevalent issues to help people find a solution for their problems
if you really care to understand, watch this:
you don't have to watch the entire thing but this will open your eyes as to why that shit happens.
so very in a nutshell: what makes shootings happen is lack of community and lack of counselling/guidance.
the shooters target schools, cause they are at school age. shootings in the work place almost never happen. you know why? cause you can quit your job. you can't quit the school you're stuck with.
This shooter wasn't a student. It was a black male in his 40s
@gorydetails that does not at all invalidate anything about what i said. the question was: "Why are schools the targets of mass shooters?" and i answered that. i don't care for individual cases that deviate from the usual. exceptions always exist.
@gorydetails like when someone is 40 and turns back to a school to shoot people, then obviously his trauma was caused in school as well and he just tipped over slightly later in life. probably finding school "at fault" for his situation, so that's where he obviously goes to harm people...
Well, I would blame Geraldo Rivera first. In 1972 he did an exposé on Willobrook. It was a mental facility. What happened was a move to reform and close many state facilities. The unintended consequences are sick people without treatment. Add in the entertainment industry that glorifies violence, and legal abortion, and we have a demented culture that see violence as a problem solving tool. Society does not value the concept of life as sacred. Lives are sacred, but life is not. Welcome to what we have now.
"Why are schools the targets of mass shooters?"
Because the media and people like you keep talking about it. A fad can't become a fad if nobody knows about it. It would never even occur to half these people if it wasn't advertised so much.
The evidence doesn't suggest that it's about guns. It shows just the opposite, that it's NOT about guns.
What the hell does gun culture mean? There is no gun culture. It's a meaningless term.
I'm talking about cause and effect of gun ownership. All the people who constantly blame guns have never bothered to really look into it. If they had, they'd see that their argument has no merit. They'd see that there is some other cause. What that cause is is open for debate, but constantly blaming guns isn't going to find it. All it does is redirect the debate.
Yeah, there’s no blue collar, shoot your way to justice culture in America.

This dude is indoctrinated by Federalist left wing talking points. He can’t think outside of the scope that was preset for him to understand
You are grasping at straws. Schools, churches, public areas that are designated gun free zones are the very reason they get targeted frequently by these individuals. It has nothing to do with hating educated people, it is a matter of exploiting opportunity to cause as much chaos and damage without being stopped quick.
If they're not students who already got easy access to it, I believe it's because... a school usually just has two kinds of people in there, Students and Teachers. There are no guards there. On top of that they're all in classrooms, they only have one exit, easy pickings.
But often they're students, they go to the only place they are familiar with that also has a lot of people, schools.
I don't see that many people in grocery stores. And when we go to malls there are guards
20 vs 1000's in a school? I'd still pick the school!
It's where they are guaranteed to get a good kill rate against people they have a grudge against.
You rarely get people attacking army barracks or police stations - regardless of the wrong they may feel either has done to them. Instead they will go and try kill their kids instead.
Not so much for it being a "soft target," but it will cause them more pain to lose their loved ones.
If you bothered to read, his mother died in 2020 and according to father he became more and more bitter along with shutting off from the world. But why read when it can be inflammatory as a post. He lived nearby so he went there because there were a lot of people; ie, targets.
So then people don’t hate the educated… to answer your “question”. Schools = people. People = targets. Schools are everywhere so they get attacked due to proximity. I’de wager that this guy was another Democrat on a rampage as it so often comes out later how they are registered for voting.
Well if your analysis is that people hate educated people I would then argue it’s rather they are pretentious self absorbed pricks whose shits don’t stink and they bully others and claim victim hood simultaneously. That’s probably why they get shot at
Wow you really are Odd
I’m smarter than many who attend higher education. Not difficult to graduate only takes time and dedication to pass classes.
It is a "Gun Free" zone. "Gun free" never excludes law enforcement from carrying. But because it is "gun free" a suicidal psycho can hit it and only have to worry about campus cops, not random students or instructors who might have CCW's.
Because almost all mass shooting are false flag operations to get the public to accept gun control. Mass shooting in school are thought to be the most effective in obtaining gun control.
Because we are an insanely violent society. Schools are soft targets and killing students causes a lot of grief. People who commit these acts are trying to create as much grief as possible.
I'd imagine it's the place people are coming of age, not quite in control of their emotions, rife with bullying and cliques, people feel disillusioned and if they have easy access to firearms some just snap
Gun free zones are the most obvious target. Armed guides are necessary to protect young folk. Think we protect our money far greater than we protect our kids.
What other place do you go 5 out of 7 days every week?
There's first places like your home default go to place. Second places like work and schools being more or less forced places and a lot of resentment happens (id call doctor and food lean more Second place). "Third places (google homework)" are places inside the community to choose to go to and relax from that resentment.
Malls, soda jerk, ice and roller rinks and even the movie theater are all going defunct and all we are left with is home, school, and work. Home school workhomeschoolworkhomeschoolwork...
You got domestic abuse being a thing now we got mass killings lack of any connections.
If the shooter is a student then the student was probably mercilessly teased. In no way does that excuse their actions, but it makes sense why they'd target their school. I mean Columbine was because of that.
lots of unarmed people and plenty of news coverage.
Or hiding outside when kids are being killed inside.
Give all teachers hk416's or g3's 3 mags for each and see if them little' bitchass asocial creeps can do it again.
Michigan is a third world state I don't even know how they even keep a school there, with tons of 5150's like this hanging around
It is but it describes a person who isn't well and can't take care of themselves and is a danger to others and can be placed on a hold and deemed as a "5150" so it can be used a regular term for an insane person or unsafe and irractic behaviour of another. It's like if I said I'm gonna go commit a 459 ? So you would think that's a Penal California code but it can be used a term to rob a house. It can also be used to describe a person or something. That's what I call all unwell people I'm like yeah that's a 5150.
Easy targets, weak parenting and pathetic gun laws.
Hmm... How do you know the shooter isn't "educated"? Is it because he's black? You, sir, are a racist!
They know that children and liberal teachers can't defend themselves.
The question is like: "Why am I soaking wet? it’s not “it's raining out here" bullshit. Denying the obvious.
Easy targets because nobody has a gun to defend themselves
Because prescription drugs are fucked and have shit side effects and big pharma refuses to take accountability
You mean the MSU shooting, right?
In case there's any confusion, I'm NOT any NRA member, but they DO do their part.
There's no confusion.
Because they are gun free zones.
Kids and teacher don't shoot back
Lots of people around to kill.
America is a terrorist nation
@gorydetails that’s why our missiles will be heading your way sooner or later
I think we can handle some goat-launched sidewinders.
Kids are easy targets
Easy targets
