Absent fathers.. Not kidding, almost every single shooter, save for 1, grew up in a fatherless home.

Another thing i will mention... People have stopped caring about eachother.. Say hypothetically you're on a subway, you see someone in the corner getting attacked. The average person would do nothing. We have stopped as a society caring about eachother. We have stopped caring about life to be honest.

@worldscolide I agree. But they need to be GOOD fathers. Not some creep that goes around knocking up 5 different women and the women call him My baby Daddy.
Ever since Biden landed in the White House America 🇺🇸 has not been the same as it was before. I don't know how one man can ruin an entire country and so many people were broken along the way. No wonder why he stayed in his basement for over 100 days during the campaign for President. They had to hide the asshole because if they didn't, people would have never voted for him. I blame these mass shootings on Biden too. He doesn't care about what happens to the people of America 🇺🇸. That attitude has trinkled down through our society. Biden doesn't do anything but cause trouble, so I will too. It starts at the top.

School shooters tend to have four things in common:

"They suffered early-childhood trauma and exposure to violence at a young age. They were angry or despondent over a recent event, resulting in feelings of suicidality. They studied other school shootings, notably Columbine, often online, and found inspiration. And they possessed the means to carry out an attack."
    https://www.edweek.org/leadership/opinion-what-school-shooters-have-in-common/2019/10

Factors I think may be important:

    1. Our schools do not respond to bullying in an aggressive manner.
    2. Kids feel disconnected because they live in a digital world and they play shoot-'em-up video games.
    3. Many boys do not have a father in their home.
    4. Neither schools nor parents are aggressive in identifying mentally ill children and getting them into treatment.
    5. The media gives much attention to mass shootings (which I certainly understand, but if you are 17 and you want to force adults to listen to you, this is how you do it.)
    6. Many kids feel no responsibility toward each other.

The insanity of our society. People are under tremendous pressure to compete, to fit in, to see a future for themselves, to find love and security. Things have changed dramatically over the past few decades. There is obviously a sense of hopelessness driving mass shooters. They aren't clever psychopaths, they are ticking time bombs that eventually explode.

I think politicians and media have a lot to do with it. They constantly talk about wars against this or that, exemplify moral outrage, and promote an "us versus them" mentality for political reasons. Enemies here and enemies there. Where is the peace, love, reasonableness and positive role modeling?
And a person can find any kind of insane shit they want on-line these days. That enables vulnerable people to find groups, "friends", and mentors who will reinforce and even take advantage of their insecurities, resentments and hatred.

I wouldn't rule out involvement by secret government agencies, either. MKUltra, FBI entrapment? High profile incidents of violence strengthen government's ability to take more control.

Then there is violent imagery in entertainment. Violence is literally glorified in movies. The level has increased alarmingly over the past few decades. Video games teach kids to kill without remorse.

All this inures kids to blood and violence. But we must remember that only a very, very few kids decide to murder innocent people.

There are 330,000,000 citizens in this country, and many own guns. There are 66 million kids under age 18. Yet, we can count on our fingers how many commit mass murder.

Before the fear blitz and the covid "emergency" measures, annual firearm related homicides hoovered below 16,000. Just to put that in perspective, keep in mind that over 40,000 die from accidental falls, accidental poisoning, and motor vehicle accidents every year. So 16,000 isn't a large number.

The number of firearm homicides increased to 20,000 in the midst of the covid. One could ask if there is any correlation.

The FBI says that 80% of firearm related homicides are gang related. So that means that even with 20,000 annual firearm homicides, 4,000 are not gang related, even though most are related to crime. Out of over 80 million legal gun owners and over 300 million guns?

It doesn't sound like gun ownership is the problem or that attacking it is the solution.

Another thing is, all mass shootings take place in "gun free" zones. They should call them "sitting duck zones". And the cities with the toughest anti-gun laws have the highest rates of murder with firearms.

Places where citizens are allowed to protect their homes, and may be concealed carrying in public, are much more peaceful. Criminals don't like taking chances. They might be able to avoid the police, they they can't be sure which inconspicuous citizens may be armed.

I guess it's obvious that in don't support a lot of gun restrictions. But how to minimize gun violence and especially mass shootings is a question that our society isn't designed, let along prepared, to address. Our society revolves around money, not meaning. It doesn't mind taking everything a person has and then discarding them. People are disposable. It's ironic how politicians and media go on and on about guns, but never address the causes of violence.

That fact of the matter is, no one has a solution. We can implement a permanent ban on any type of firearm that can be modified into either a semi, or fully automatic weapon. We can create legislation that will ensure that no individual who is taking psychtropic/ anti depressants, or any mood altering medications can purchase, or be in possession of any firearm. Or, we can initiate a "carpet bombing" strategy, and eliminate the second amendment altogetger. Ever since it has been demonstrated that 3d printing technology is capable of creating "ghost weapons", we will always be vulnerable to future mass killings. Pandora's box is now permanently open. We need to throw away the old playback, and start thinking outside the box, until a permanent, viable long term solution is realized. What we can control right now is protecting our children, and the staff at school by ensuring that they have an escape route when the unthinkable happens again.

Here’s the deal: to everyone who sends thoughts and prayers but nothing else? I am sick of your bullshit. Sandy Hook happened. People said things like “never again” and guess what? It has happened again, thousands of times since 2012.

We have to make it stop. We have to destroy human sized Ebola like Alex Jones and stop his fans from controlling the narrative. We have to eliminate filthy brutal whores in government bought and sold by the NRA the way you sell used cars.

Fuck the Second Amendment justification; It’s all about the fucking money.
Guns are the weapons of cowards. Maybe that’s why Americans love their guns so much? That's why we never take this head on and fix it.

Well I think most of the time it's just broken people.
I mean we should be a better society. Not so excluding not so judgmental. I think that would go a long way towards improving the avg. Persons mental health. But whether you want to debate nature vs. Nurture. I think it's been proven soundly that some broken people are produced regardless. I don't want to say this. This will happen every now and again.
I think if you want to slow it down we should stop giving these things so much airplay. I mean this guy wanted to make a statement. He was unhappy and the world was going to know it.

It’s complex but it’s really a break down in the local community and the culture we live in. It’s a toxic environment that is extremely dangerous for at risk troubled young men.

Personally I think social media is a major contributor to creating a dangerous environment for troubled young people. The Texas shooter found a special enclave of other weird people that started reinforcing his delusional and depraved headspace.

What do I believe causes so many mass school shootings? First, it's complicated and not homogenous. I'd wager a guess that they're related to misdirected hostility by unhappy and potentially disaffected people. It's important to try to look into such things if we are to have constructive changes. Just calling someone "evil" does nothing to evaluated the true causes or circumstances involved.

They might have been prescribed antidepressants and/psychotropics but that doesn't mean they were taking them. A lot of times people are prescribed those drugs, and they make the person feel mentally worse. Those drugs all have side effects. Some people are allergic to them. I know someone who was given a antipsychotic drug prescribed by a psychiatrist and the guy started hallucinating piles of snakes from that drug and had to go through the process all over again to get a different prescription. These pills don't fix a person back to normalcy and could make them worse mentally, especially if they are mixing other drugs with them.
They are not a fix all obviously because the people taking them turned out to be a mass shooter.

The government. They get people to do this shit to scare the rest of us into giving up our guns so we can no longer protect ourselves against their tyranny. They know what the 2nd Amendment is for! Sadly, not many of us do! If we did, Biden would've been out on his wrinkled old perverted, confused ass at least a year ago!!

@Waldoe By definition a mass shooting is three or more victims. On a weekend in Chicago several mass shootings take place. You just don't hear about it because it is usually a black shooter shooting people!
