Can you read body language well?

I can see it but I can't read it, there's only very few movements I can read, do people purposely try to hide it? Do they even realize they do it?

yep... either by intuition and/or experience, a mix of both... a few things are quite obvious

a lot of of it comes from sports, because to be better at almost or perhaps every sport, you do have to be able to "foresee and anticipate" or "predict" if you like, what the rival is going to do and so... you focus, notice and get used to recognize certain patterns in people

also, I grew up as a more reserved person and very shy too, so... literally half of my life, I spent it watching out for people around me and noticing their every move, lmao... so, after years and years... same thing... I just can "kind of see" the patterns in many things

I think I'm more focused on words chosen and voice inflexions, but it depends on what one is trying to determine when reading. I'm reading people to determine superficial layers of their psychology. For this aim, I don't really need a hard focus on body language, talking is more than enough to do the job

my daughter is a lot more sensitive… we were at a long bus line last year in a foreign country… taking it to the airport… while waiting she observered a scene that I have missed…. (I noticed… but didn’t put together)….
she said the couple was a human trafficking… she noted the man was watching the woman like a hawk!!! The woman’s facial expression was in fear and she was literally bone thin…in mini skirt … after she pointed out… it was obvious…

im very observant of people and just like aware which i think has helped me connect with people bc i pickup on cues. BUT i sometimes misread people bc their behavior reminds me of shitty people i've dealt with and it's like built into my system, so then i'm on edge. it's led to some embarasing moments lol

Oh i am VERY good at reading body language. I see it, I read it, I understand it lol.

Some people are aware and try to hide it... and I notice that too 😅

I might be arrogant in saying so, but I think I'm extremely good at reading body language and micro expressions with people.

I actually have a bar trick where I go up to randoms and ask if I can write a couple paragraphs about their personality and almost every time I ask for feedback on it, most people respond with something along the lines of "Have you been following me?"

and body language is in most cases unconscious so you can believe it more than words...
