Is body language important to communicate with people? If yes, are you able to read people's body language?

Posture and attention toward are essencial in communicating interest in a polite manor.

That said they are also potentially the most misleading as people tend to see what they want to in others body posturing.

I think there are some general signs which are universal in body language such we can all read them. Examples include, a sustained smile continuing after politeness is ended. Crossed arms are rarely a good sign, though again they might just find that position more comfy, but in the majority of cases it signals a closed position towards the person being spoke to.

In the end, never rely on body language, use it as something to help you decide if you want to furthur your attention to increase the odds of that attention being welcome (but in the end, always make sure to seek permission not presume from stance)

I can read body language. I think everyone can to a certain degree.

It's important, because what someone does while speaking can say and mean a lot.

I can’t say I can read their body language but I definitely do look for cues when it comes to certain conversations.
