Anyone else just doesn't get affected by people on the Internet?

I see people throwing tantrums over people insulting them on this site. Honestly why should I care if someone on here insults me? They are strangers to me I will never meet. I insult people too if I need to, and I don't care. If they are so fragile, then they shouldn't be here in my opinion.

It certainly gets in the way of having worthwhile conversations. And I think the internet is a part of our lives now, which makes it real on some level. I think it’s important to behave kindly and decently whether it is virtual or irl. People meet online and then irl all the time.

I agree with sites which are important and where you meet people or where people can see you like your family.

But sites like this are anonymous and shouldn't be part of your life unless you're a recluse or something like that.

That’s a good point. But even on this site I’ve found 2 very good friends. I guess I just feel it never hurts to be courteous. Even virtual rudeness contributes to an overall negative environment. None of us needs that kind of negativity.

I agree and I’m learning what is and isn’t worth it. If somebody just wants to be nasty and troll me, it’s just water off a duck’s back. But it does get frustrating at times when they keep jumping in and interrupting an otherwise enjoyable exchange with stuff that has nothing to do with the topic.
