I get so annoyed by the way some people, particularly really young people communicate on here. Overusing acronyms…”yk,” “imy” , or “ily” , or “ig” , even “ty”. Too lazy to type out “thank you?” And what is with these idiots who say “kk” instead of “ok” ?
Can we please just communicate like adults?

I personally find it fascinating how language evolves to fit new means and mediums. If you look at the English language from, say, 500 years ago you wouldn’t be able to read it because of how many alphabet letters we’ve discarded or forgotten in our current speech. Things like “ikr” or “idk” convey simple but clear messages. And then you have things like “lol” which can mean not only that something is amusing but it’s a textual tone indicator, depending on the age group using it, it can mean “I’m not saying this to be mean” or “I’m saying this sardonically” or even “I’m disappointed” depending on the context. Don’t you think that’s interesting?
We have no idea of what "People online" do, because we don't have access to 8 billions of people. What we have access to is, at best, a few circles/spheres/tribes having communication habits tailored to their culture in relation to language. Skibidi?
Sometimes, yes. However, there are times that I vibe or times that I feel completely neutral.
