In a battlefield, everything is free.
In a gift shop, you pay for everything.
Bad analogies aside, people do not take free stuff because they think its owed to them, they do it because everyone likes getting free stuff.
You are trying to make the point of needing to earn things in life, but in reality there isn't any such thing. There is just ways to get stuff, and sometimes that involves money/effort/skill, and sometimes it doesn't. Whining about it won't change that.
Okay spacegnome. You don’t get to determine what’s a bad analogy. And yes, there is such a thing
I, like any other organism, get to determine whatever I want, thats part of how a brain works.
Whether or not what I determine is in fact true or false, is whats in question here, and the truth is that its an objectively bad analogy. But it works when inverted, so thats what I did.
I'll never understand why people use "life is hard, earn the right to exist" arguments to get people to increase their civility. We made civilization to make life EASIER lol.
Money is part of that, it takes way more effort and risk to barter instead of using money, and even more so to fight on a battlefield over resources.
We do not need people viewing barbarism as "better" than compassion and convenience.
Laziness... plus, I think there are a bunch of people out there who have realized that if they complain loud and long enough, someone will give them what they want just to shut them up.
I dont. I have a foolish pride ingrained within me.
