It's something that only really happens if (1) one of the two people doesn't want to be left alone with the other one (yet) or (2) if you're trapped (like on a cruise or something) and don't have a lot of options on where to go.
In the first case, the person you're there with can hint when it's ok to head out and leave her alone with the new guy. In the second case, while options may be limited you can still at least grant them some privacy by getting a deck chair a few yards away or something.
Yes and I have been a 5th wheel too lol
The weirdest time was when I was with my friends we were like 19 or 20 and we all bought ice pops and stuff and I bought a long Popsicle and my friends boyfriend kept telling me to suck it, in front of everyone and he was watching me.. it was so awkward trying to eat it turned away so I just started biting it so he would leave me alone..
among friends... it's kind of an understanding...
either friends time or girlfriend/boyfriend time... lol
no "double dating" either lmao
actually... once, I invited myself to watch movies with my ex and a guy who invited her to watch movies at his place ( she was my friend at the time ) lmfao... awkward AF
I kid you not...
the good'ol trick of inviting the girl you like and her friends out.. then the friend bail at last minute and out of nowhere it's a date
I DIDN'T BAIL and I invited myself too...
I'm the annoying one?
dude was trying to get MY girl into his place...
okay, we were still friends... but still
asking her out when she was single would have been fair
but those dirty tactics, nah...
but now... the trillion dollar question... when were you the third wheel?
I just forgot I became the third wheel, that time
That's So Raven...
My best friend was a lot better looking than I am and he always had girlfriends. I was often a third wheel. thinking back it really made me sad.
@exitseven the computer loves you lol

Yes, I have. My friends had a male friend that she liked talking to. They both had partners WHO apparently were jealous of them. They often asked me to accompany them. At first, IT was nice to hang out, but then they became immersed in their own conversations and I felt really stupid as well as uncomfortable for tagging along. Eventually, I started declining.
My two guy best friends are homies, and sometimes it's definitely like being a third wheel, but that depends entirely on the topic of discussion, lol.
I m used to it with my sister and her boyfriend years ago when we all lived together, was alwarkd except when they had a fight and then picked me to bother the other, it was pretty funny
To some women I may be their third wheel that they never acted on dating or asking me what my number was "to enter our prize draw" and blah blah blah ☺️ hot date - what 👀🤣
I feel for the guy in the photos, honourably @lizraven humourous
@liaraven typo lol 😅
@liaraven I'm a third wheel often in my friendships and even my real life relations. Its just me. I love however being me. As much as John Candy in Plane Trains Automobiles and as much as Mr Bean is content being himself. I mean, I'm a third wheel 🛞 and I always will be 😜💗
Well, even metaphorically I have been the third wheel.. Or the other wheel.. That's how it was with a friend I had in High-school.. I eventually had to ditch hanging out with him altogether..
Not you Lia.. It can't be!!
Because it's you.. 😏👉..
No.
Who would ever put themselves in that circumstance.
Yes. And exploited for personal gain. 😈
Especially fun when they are good sports about it.
Feel for this guy.
No I have not. i am always the 2nd or fourth lol
No, that's just odd and depressing mixed together. Why would I want to be with my buddy kissing a young woman. I would want my buddy to have his own privacy. Why waste that time when I could use that time for something valuable like meeting someone else. Now sure, if my friend's buddy girlfriend or wife says, I know some a girl who would be right for you, let's meet up together and talk about and it's the three of us so we get introduced later on, Im cool with that. But being the third wheel just to tag along, nah.
I try to avoid it but don’t always succeed.
My best friend has been dating for 2 years now and many times we hang out as a group which is fine
But sometimes we make plans and I’m the only one who shows up other than him and his girl so we end up hanging out and I find myself third wheeling.
It’s truly a pathetic feeling
Yea but I've always been a quiet person so not very effective in awkwardness
Its true 😇
I mean, I don't do creepy stuff like that, but sure, of course I've hung out with couples before.
Does it count when you're from meet someone from a dating app? Has you sat at another table just in case?
I have been a third wheel a few times. It’s a little weird, but fortunately it can usually be remedied when other people arrive,
Not really. Hanging out with friends who like me is different
Like... that's my whole fricken life is being 3rd wheel.
Yes once or twice when I was in my early teens.
Nah, I'm not a sad cuck that would subject myself to that. Rather stay at home or just go out by myself then linger with a couple, ruining their alone time.
Yes and it wasn't fun I'll never ever be that again
Unfortunately, yes
How could being the third wheel ever be anything but unfortunate? You're tagging along as an outside of observer of someone else's relationship. That's super lonely
I suppose the novelty has worn off for me
Yep, most definitely have. It’s no fun is Awkward
I find being the third wheel means I pick what I want from the food court myself 😜😀 the others can eat their darn sushi 🍣😔
Yes, but I didn’t mind. I actually feel awkward when when someone else is the third wheel because I feel like I have to try and give equal attention.
@brandi555 the struggle is real, university lady 💪🏻
Maybe a 3-Some?
I think everybody has been at some point.
If I were, I never noticed.
I like his expression in the last picture.
no but the "other" in a mfm 3some
yes..
@liaraven
lol
Yes I have been
No and won't

No it’s too awkward

Plenty of times
