I have been in that predicament a couple of times I really didn't care or mind it. I just dranked or ate with everyone else. 😊
my friend didn't care about me anymore but continued to use me for things after she met her boyfriend. I was running around putting in all the effort into the friendship. Going to her house, taking her out for food, bought her a Christmas gift but she never gave me anything back. She got me a really ugly birthday gift because it was the cheapest she could find. She was desperate for me to meet up with her (not because she missed me) but because it made her feel more united with her boyfriend. She has met all her boyfriend's friends while he hadn't met all her friends. Him seeing all her friends makes them feel more united as a couple. It was very sad the way our friendship disintegrated. I was more upset at the way things fell apart rather than the fact that we broke up.
I was angry for 2 years after that. I've invested so much into the friendship and I trusted her so much because she was the nicest girl ever. To this day, I struggle to trust people easily and I no longer put too much stock into "friends". Trust me, they're amazing now but there's a very likely chance you will no longer see them 3 to 4 years from now. Put emphasis on developing good relationships with your FAMILY. Your family are the only ones who will be there for you at the end of the day (even if they're not fun to be around). Never rely on "friends" for anything.

+1 yEarly on when i was a teenager, i was often the 3rd Wheel, Girl without a boyfriend or girlfriend.
How did i solve it? i would get wasted at the party or just sit alone and watch tv, or usually take a nap.
Then i learned, IF i wanted to be part of the Action, I had to push myself into the get together. Often, this ended up with me stealing a girlfriend's boyfriend or if some single guys were there, hooking up after a few drinks.
I also learned to avoid gatherings when i was single and i knew only couples would be there.01 Reply- +1 y
Cool, well for me I'm still single and always hanging out with couples 🥺

u +1 ylmao, yes... sort of
I intentionally made myself the third wheel... and in between of a guy who wanted to get with the girl that was going to be eventually be my girlfriend
and no regrets, if he tricked her into a "date" then I just tricked my way into 'how about no... lmfao"
if he really wanted a date one on one, then he should have been upfront and honest about it, lol22 Reply- +1 y
Nice, I actually set up a couple of my friends with girlfriends sometimes by accident 😅😅

+1 yYeah one of my best friends had a destination wedding. This was a a while back when I didn't have a car so one of the couples invited me to travel with them. I mostly sat by myself during a lot of it althoiugh we had a few different friends there that I would socialize with. It was awkward but it was also important to my friend that I be there for her weeding and I was single at the time with no car so it's just the way it had to be at the time.

True, it's been like that for me 😅
I was the third wheel on the last night of Summer Camp once. One of my best friends and I both crushed on this guy, but he ended up liking her instead.
They ended up silently flirting with each other that night, but since guys and girls weren't really allowed to be alone together, they were in public (and I was with them). At a certain point I felt like I had been tagging along too much (plus I was really tired of the emotional pain lol), so I left to my cabin (I talked to her about it right afterwards).
In the end, they broke up with each other only a couple weeks afterwards. I guess it was just the usual camp crush, haha.

+1 yYea, it was kinda annoying/awkward. In middle-school my friend invited me over for a girls night/sleepover but then she invited this guy over and almost thr entire damn night she was speaking with this guy, pretty much ignoring me. Then when he finally left she hoped on the phone to talk to him some more, I was very pissed off. Don't invite me over for a girls night if you're just invite a guy over and completely ignore your guest. It's rude.

Lol, damm that sucks. For me it was never liked that luckily for me 😊
Yeah there is always the potential for that when hanging out with a couple and you are solo. Hasn’t happened to me for a while but I remember feeling that way on occasion. They need to do their part too, to make sure you don’t feel like a third wheel.

Yes. When I was young I was out with a friend and his girlfriend. While I drove home they made out in the back seat the entire time.

+1 yI have. I don't mind it at all. Everyone knows I'm a good person and I would never steal anyone's woman. So it's not an issue.
I will say this, though. It's easier being a 5th-wheel than a 3rd-wheel.00 Reply - 1.1K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic.
+1 yI've been the 9th wheel and it sucks. But it sucks less than having a partner who makes you miss being the spare wheel.

+1 yI was hanging out with friends and we ended up going to a park. Two of them ran off together. The other two went into the grass and made out. I sat on the park bench alone. Very awkward.

Yeah I feel it’s actually good for friends to start dating eachother cause then it’s not just based off looks, and you know eachother. Just don’t say let’s hang out as friends then turn it into a date 😂
+1 yBro i was the third wheel on all my teens. Always waiting alone in the corner while my best friend is kissing her all the time
