Do you judge someone based on how they dress?

I remember at my old job... one patient's son was a doctor. He always dressed very comfortable and homely. One of my coworkers assumed he was "broke"... no money.

I knew he was very successful and wealthy because he spoke to me a lot and I found out he was a doctor. It was his money... that was keeping his mother in the expensive assisted living home, and he cared a lot about her. He would visit as often as he could.

Anyway, do you find yourself judging based on physical appearances?

Sort of -- I mean you can tell if they generally have taste that is similar to yours. You can also tell if they're tacky and wear multiple designer brands at the same time. You can tell if they're heading to/coming from a professional or athletic activity. Etc, etc, etc.

But if you mean "judge" in terms of getting all nasty and fussy about their wearing Rawlex rather than Rolex... I don't do that. There was, in fact, a person in my community who would always have something catty to say about everyone. One day the person came up to me with a smirk. "Look at that woman with the MK bag. You can tell its a fake because... see THIS stitch (and I was shown the one in this person's bag)... THIS stitch denotes that this is an ORIGINAL and REAL MK bag. That woman's bag is a fake... it doesn't have the same stitch."

I looked at this person a sec. REALLY? What should we do? Let's call the fashion police!

I shared that the woman in question was someone who traveled half way around the world with only her son and the clothes on their backs to help him get cancer treatment at St. Jude's, so the stitching of her MKay version of her MK bag was most likely not a priority for her to assess... And I said this to the person who made the "stitch" comment, who then scoffed and claimed not to be judging, just to be stating a fact to educate me."

But bad manners and judgement are never in style... (And I told the person that as well...)

Mostly everyone does to some extent, and it has been shown it to be this way through history. The rich always look down on the poor. The conservatives look down on those that dress differently. But, this can also be true. That those that are considered weirdos can have the best souls.

Yes, I judge other people based on clothes, grooming, speech, manners, style, fitness, etc.

That doesn't mean you need to be wearing a Louis Vuitton suit and Gucci loafers. It means your jeans and shirt are clean and fit you and your sneakers are not 50 shades of white. You have a haircut. You don't smell of BO. You can carry on a conversation. And you make some effort to stay in shape. And you're polite.

But for example your doctor friend just coz he was casual does not mean poorly attired. I don't look for brand names and the like but I like good presentation , but it certainly doesn't have to be formal attire.

But , I believe everyone judges.

Well depending.. yeah.. if I see a girl dressed with her body showing like I know what your whole ass and camel toe or tits look like I assume she is a slut, if I see people on the streets looking like junkies I assume they are junkies lol. Other than that if they don't have holey or dirty clothes I just assume they are regular people.

Most definitely. Clothing can say a lot about a person. There are certain fashion choices that turn me off.

Depends on what they are dressed in.. If it's normal clothes, not really.. But if it's clothes that are meant to make them stand out... Yeah, I probably do..

I do my best not to unless someone’s just a absolute slob. Some people spend money they don’t have on expensive clothing as where people with money may be more frugal with money which is why they even have money.

Dress expensive or dress poor I don’t care. Be a decent person and we will get along.

I don't judge anyone based on their dress. I can get some idea about their personality. I judge people based on their way of talking, behavior etc. rude and racist people I don't like.
