What are some tricks cops use to catch speeders?

I've seen them sit in the median with their turn signal on acting like they're going to turn, but really they're just running radar. Anyone else see any other tricks? Who sits in the median for 10 minutes with a turn signal on? Lol

Well most cops are looking for either serious traffic violations or interdiction, some maybe both. Really depends on what philosophy of the job they have though some officers are more retentive then others.

One thing they do is like you said sit in the median. On non highways they hide behind signs and other things like that but other times they want to be seen as a deterrence. Some officers however aren’t looking for traffic violations as much as they are for other criminal activity such as drugs among other things.

One thing officers do is also run radar off bridges and overpasses while another officer pulls the speeder over. Another thing is using aircraft planes or helicopters. That fly over the road and if you reach a certain point by a certain time. They radio it in that you’re speeding.

You really don’t have to be that sneaky as people just speed all the time. It’s not hard to get speeders.
