Security gates and surveillance cameras at the complex's entrance, a private alarm system and bars on windows. Unfortunately, burglars got into some neighbours's houses, so in the end you take the same protection as everyone else will.

And a fierce cat that doesn't like to be disturbed. Sharp teeth and claws.

A lock on doors and windows. That there's nothing much to steal of any worth is another tactic I use to make it not worth their while. I also choose to live in a country where the society tries to create conditions where there is no real need to resort to crime of this sort. It's called community and everyone contributes what they can while the state and community provide the resources to carry out the things that need money.

I have cameras all around my house, my yard is fully fenced in with a gate that gets locked, there is an alarm system, I have a dog, and a gun. If someone gets past all that they will no doubt be meeting Satan in hell.

It's sad that it has come to this. Unfortunately, a gun does not deter online scammers.

Well no one is putting up a sign telling everybody what they use for protection. Maybe a sign saying that if the doorknob is turned without a key that a trap door would open under them dropping them onto a nest of pungi sticks dipped in poison? We already see security company signs posted in the front yards.

Thats not the risk, the risk is letting people think of all the possible things to bypass in general for breaking an entering, as a society we should keep at least some of them as surprises so they still get their asses beat no matter how much prep they did 😈
